I wish we had read reviews before heading here. The place itself was very mixed… some lovely attractions spoilt by the large amount of refurbishment and mess on the outskirts of the park. Bike hire was cheap but the bikes are in terrible condition, one of the seats were broken and tires flat. It’s probably best to hire a golf buggy instead. The worst part is the mistreatment of the 5 elephants they have onsite which we saw at the end of our tour. All had their front feet chained together in a small enclosure. Heart breaking. I hope with enough negative feedback they reconsider and stop this abuse

The is okay, a lot of work going on, but it’s tarnished by a bunch of elephants having their front legs tightly chained, bouncing constantly and showing obvious signs of stresses. Very sad, especially for the youngest one who was still a baby. Definitely doesn’t worth spending an afternoon there. 😢

Sul parco non ho nulla da dire, tranne che è ben fatto molto organizzato pulito. Bello. Ma passando da una zona all’altra ho intravisto degli elefanti, più mi avvicinavo più era chiara la situazione! Elefanti in fila, legati a catene cortissime con sopra dei baldacchini per fare salire persone. Un cartello avvisava che per pochi bath potevi dare da mangiare agli elefanti! VI PREGO NON FATELO! Se avessi saputo che dentro c’era un’atrocità simile non sarei mai entrata!!Anche perché il biglietto non costa poco!

Very big place with many beautiful historical replicas of famous ancient buildings. Need to rent a vehicle to go around the park as walking is impossible to cover the whole area in one day.

Not many people told us about this place. Even the drivers and tour guides dont suggest this place. I am not sure why. We insisted we go here, and it was awesome!
We spent 3.5 hours exploring the ancient city.
The city takes the person through a journey of the history of thailand, with ajestic palaces to statues of gods and goddesses and old time villages and cities. I think it is a beautiful place of explore the old and the new Thailand. It was a window to the Royal Thailand.
1. Very well maintained with clear labels, maps and instructions in English.
2. The Entry ticket was 400 Baht her person, which only includes a self driven cycle. This place cannot be navigated walking. You could definitely need your own vehicle, cycle or they also give a buggy on hire. This buggy can be self driven (2 seater and 4 seater options) and they charge for this per hour basis. You would need to submit your identity proof (Driving License) at the entrance to drive.
3. If you have a driver, there is a charge for him and the car separately. We found taking the buggy instead easier and cheaper, if you know how to drive.
4. There is a lovely restaurant inside, which serves buffet thai food. I would recommend it for everyone, the food was delicious and reasonable. It has a huge seating capacity to accommodate large crowds.
5. The entire city is out in the open, so please carry lots of water, sun screen, caps, umbrellas to protect yourself from the sun/ rain. If we knew this, I would have opted for the later part of the day.
6. Loads of photo opportunities here, so keep your cameras and phones charged throughout. Absolutely mesmerizing, especially with no people around.
Lastly, there is a lot of walking to do, so if you want to explore this in peace, I would suggest to keep a large part of the day dedicated to this (a little more than half a day), and not combine with other site seeing tours.

This is somwhere people don't talk about enough. Such a fantastic place and great if you are short on time and want to see some of the temples. Don't be fooled - they might say minature but they are far from small! We rented a golf buggy (highly recommend doing as there is 300 acres to cover) and far too hot in the sun which just added to the experience.

The park was amazing, up until we saw the chained elephants! Such a disappointment, we would not have come if we knew this. I highly recommend to avoid until they rehome the beautiful elephants to a sanctuary.

This was a really fun and interesting day out, only ruined by driving passed elephants for riding! We were really enjoying the trip and didn't know they offered this until we passed them chained up on our way out, which was very sad to see from somewhere I would have otherwise so highly recommended to anyone visiting Bangkok. I would have scored a 5 if it weren't for this 'attraction' and it should definitely be taken away from this site.
It would also have been better if there were more two seater golf buggies so we, as a group of two, didn't have a to pay double to rent a four person one.

The sites are decent, but they rip you off like people selling watches on the streets of Bangkok.
If you wish to rent a golf cart for travel, they will barely have any of the "cheap" 2 seat versions, forcing you to use the x2 price per hour 4 seater. Even if they clearly have more 2 seaters in the garage.
Do yourself a favor, use the free tour busses and walk instead if you wish to stay longer.
Also alot of trash, the water/river/ponds are rancid and stale and smell accordingly.
Also several places still under construction.
At the very least, it has a few interesting and beautiful places.

Sehr schöne, riesige, saubere Anlage in Samut Prakan. Am Eingang kann man entscheiden ob man mit dem eigenen Auto, einem Golfkart, E-Fahrrad, Fahrrad oder sogar zu Fuss die Anlage besuchen will. Wir haben Uns für das eigene Auto entschieden, welches dank der Klimaanlage (35°) sicher die beste Option für Uns war. Auf dem Areal (127ha) gibt es sehr sehr viel zu sehen, waren 4h 1/2 unterwegs und haben nicht alles gesehen. Meiner Meinung nach ist es den Eintritt (Tourist THB 700.- / Thai THB 400.-) wert.

Don't know the answer to your question about the wall. I'd guess it is included in the ticket price, but as I was a guest of someone else, did not order the ticket myself. Let me assure you that the park itself is a marvel and worth what you pay to enter.

It’s 700 B per person and to hire a golf buggy is an extra 350 B for the first hour and then 200 B thereafter (take your id for this option) or you can use the free bikes to get around. We did the bikes which was great fun :)

The map showed the nearest BTS station is Bang Na Station. So, should I alight at Bang Na Station then take a taxi to Muangboran?

The BTS line is being extended at the moment the nearest station is Samrong; later this year one can alight at a new bts station very near to the ancient city.
