Nice place to visit. Around 40km from Dalat, you will find this Bidoup attracted with a various plans.
We spent one night here with my friends in Dec 2015 with BBQ night. An forgetable night for all of us.
Will be back soon.

Only an hour north of Dalat is the rarely visited Bidoup Nui Ba National Park. You'll have to convince an Easy Rider to take you here as it's not on the tourist trail. The drive is lovely, passing through seldom traveled countryside and a number of minority villages. There is a visitor center where you can pick up a guide (mandatory), my advise is to ring in advance and book a guide, otherwise they will be surprised to see you. There are a number of walks. Because we did not book in advance, we could only to the 3.5km walk to the waterfall, longer walks can be booked. Nice countryside, cheap fees, and absolutely no tourists! Remember to bring your own water and food.

I had the pleasure of traveling on a half-day tour to a village near Dalat ("Da Blah Tour"). I was looking for something beyond the usual tourist experience and this was perfect. My guide, Mr. Vang, was an ethnic minority member from a village in the area and spoke great English. He met us at our hotel, as agreed, and we drove together on motorbikes for around 45 minutes to the village. The drive was beautiful, and felt safe, although I would recommend previous experience driving a motorbike/motorcycle.
In the village we met with another ethnic minority woman who showed us around her farm, answered questions about the area, and brought us to meet the village elder. In retrospect, it may not sound like much, and it probably isn't everyone's idea of an adventure, but I thought it was great. A very authentic experience, getting to see a non-touristy village, and learning more about the area. Was never pressured to buy anything and the farmers gave us some fresh, organic fruit off a tree.
On the way back, we stopped a few times to take pictures of the surrounding landscape and the guide even brought us to a church in town that we wanted to visit. I am not sure if there was a miscommunication, but after all this the price was only $6 per person. I gave some extra as a tip, but afterwards wished I had given more. As a side note, a tour company in town had quoted us US$100 for a day tour, including car, a little past this same area.
Overall, highly recommended. Dalat has great weather, but there is not much to see in the town itself. This tour showed me a different side of Vietnam and was a great deal. It turns out the organization was founded with assistance from the Japanese International Cooperative Agency (JICA). However, few people seem to know about this center. Check out their website for other tours, including camping trips, they offer in the area.
One final note: you may need to call or text the number on the website for quick response. I was a little uncertain how everything would work out since we had just texted back and forth, but in the end it went very well and exceeded my expectations.
