Minh arranged a 16 day tour of Vietnam for my 21 year old son and myself. Included Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, HCMC, homestays in remote villages. Very authentic experiences away from the tourists (except for larger city tours where it can’t be avoided). 100% satisfaction and recommend without reservation. New guide for each area and all were professional, spoke English well, and were charming. We are well traveled. Hanoi was favorite city and homestays in villages (some not available by car) were amazing. Families were great and food authentic, safe and delicious.

I did two activities (Ha Long Bay Day trip, Bai Dinh - Trang Day trip) for my friends from Japan. They could answer carefully our many questions and we requested non-regular options of them, but they could arrange for us flexibly.

Wow, what can I say??! This was a phenomenal experience! I found Footprint through a Vietnamese tea shop that suggested looking into the tour company for a tour to a tea farm. From the very start of the process, everything went smoothly. Customer service during the planning phase was top notch, very kind and attentive. The website offers a lot of good and valuable information in general outside of the tour package info, so check that out too. The tour itself with Mr. Dan was a blast. He knows everything you would want to know about basically anything. I loved that the tour not only shows you the farm and the facilities for tea production but allows you to take part in every step of the process in production until creating fully finished, ready to drink tea. The opportunity to be welcomed into the farmer's home for dinner with his family was also really heartwarming. This is one of those rare tours I would actually come back and do again someday because it was that interesting. For tea drinking enthusiasts, it is a must. For others, I would still recommend this as a very unique and fun way to explore an aspect of life in Vietnam that doesn't get as much attention.

Everything about this cruise was fine except that we never got to or even close to Bai Tu Long Bay. Early the 2nd day, still in Ha Long Bay (I was tracking this on Google Maps), the propeller apparently fell off our boat and we spent most of the day anchored, awaiting repair. The scheduled activities--kayaking, beach time, beach BBQ, etc., --continued unabated, and repairs were effected on the night of the second day. The third day's activities continued as scheduled, all in Ha Long Bay, nothing ever in Bai Tu Long Bay. Few apologies were offered, and, given the worsening economic situation in Vietnam, we did not complain. The sales pitch was all about Bai Tu Long, how uncrowded it is, etc., but we never saw it.

Our good morning Vietnam tour was definitely not what we were in expecting but in a good way!!! Starting at 4.30am in the morning we were fortunate enough to see sights in Hanoi that you cannot see during normal hours such as the flower market and the raising of the flag at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. We also were very lucky to enjoy train street and experience having a train going past us. The tour guide was excellent, was a great experience

We had a wonderful time in Vietnam with Hiep. He brought us through Hanoi, Pu Luong and Nin Binh. He was extremely informative always giving great context to everything we where shown. The two days hiking in Pu Luong where a definite highlight. We can't recommend him highly enough! It was a unique and amazing experience.

My partner and I did the eight day trekking tour starting near Mai Châu traveling through the Pù Luông nature reserve area. We did the trek just before the Tet holiday and all of the homestay families were incredibly kind and welcoming. Dan was our guide, expert chef, medic, and informational gold mine along the way. He was incredibly supportive and responsive to my partner who had sprained her ankle a few weeks before and made adjustments when possible. He had connections with each of the homestays and was goofy and friendly with everyone.
A few bits of extra info/advice for this challenging trek:
- Our total distance was 95 km over basically 6 days (the first and last days were minimal walking)
- Some days are fairly flat on roads through villages and rice paddies, other days are variable off road and very steep up mountains.
- Many homestays of ours provided a shower towel, shampoo, and wifi but not all, so come prepared with your own basic toiletries. All homestays provided slippers so you could kick off your muddy boots.
- Bring lightweight, quick dry layers in January as it was very humid and foggy, so it was easy to get damp and not be able to dry.
- Otherwise seriously pack LIGHT. You don't want to be carrying too much like we were!
- All water and food is provided and it was all incredible. Expect to tip the families and your guide as a thank you for all they do.
We are so happy that we found Footprint Travel and had Dan as our guide. Knowing exactly where our money was going and that it was being kept local in these rural communities feels great. We got more than we paid for or expected with this trip. Happy New year!

We were family of 8 visited Vietnam. I am glad we have chosen Footprint. It was an excellent & pleasant trip. From picking up at Hanoi airport, Transportaion arrangements, Sightseeing, Food & till departure from Ho Chi Minh airport everything is well organised.

I am trying to plan last minute trip to vietnam. We are arriving july 11 and depart July 23. Our first week is in Hanoi. Looking for advice on traveling the 16-23. Should we try and get down to HCM?
