To fit the climate and the occasion

A couple of years ago, I commissioned a linen suit from H&D and they did a great job: especially since it's an unforgiving fabric and was to be unlined. I was happy to return a year later. "Please, I want a shirt jacket: something half way between a UK safari jacket and a French chore jacket." Not only did they agree to take on the project, they accomplished it flawlessly. What I admire about H&D is that they make clothes that actually fit, rather than opting for the ultra slim "shrink wrap look" that's popular in HCMC or heavy wool numbers in which you roast. Hence the title.

I have tailored the pants 5 year ago when I was in the business trip, I was so impressed with the staff of H&D Tailor. They do have a lot of material to fit your budget, and every year I do repurchase from H&D Tailor. Highly recommend the shop.

I had a suit tailored couple years ago and re-purchased online in 2020. The shop has good selection of fabrics, from local cloths (don't be afraid of those, some are very nice at a good price) to high-end european brands. I've had both "default" half-canvassed and fully-canvassed jackets and both are nicely made. Highly recommend visiting the shop with enough time for fittings, but they will do upmost to accomodate your schedule if you can't.

Best suits in HCM City: Recommended

Based on all the positive reviews, I visited H&D Tailor during a vacation in February to check them out. I was impressed by the friendly service, the extensive selection of materials and the professionalism, so I ordered two suits. Allow ten days from first visit to pick-up. The price was more than reasonable for the quality (and a name brand cloth), and the fit was excellent.
I received so many compliments when I wore the suits to work in early March that I recently ordered a sports jacket on-line.
H&D has a well-deserved reputation and I recommend you visit them to see for yourself.

Exceptional quality at an affordable price

I visited H&D once when in town in late 2018. Since that time, I have ordered 3 more suits and an overcoat remotely from abroad. The selection is wide, the process is easy, and the finished products show up at my house in Arkansas (USA) less than a month later. Huge fan of H&D, will continue having all of my suits and formalwear made by them moving forward.

Dao and family were great throughout this experience!
Very patient and helpful when selecting the fabric, the fitting precise, and communication excellent. The final suit fits like a dream and the fabric could not be better. Highly recommend!

Average workmanship and extremely overpriced

I made 4 custom suits with 4 different tailors in Ho Chi Minh City, while I visited there. As for H&D, you pay for their expensive facility, and not for the quality of workmanship. H&D rents space at the first floor of this new Hotel, and must mark up the price of your suit to pay their rent. They overcharge you for no other reason. The quality and selection of material was good, but the price for their average workmanship does not pay. Out of the 4 suits I made, this was the most expensive, and ranked the lowest. They also refuse to negotiate. From experience, you will get better workmanship from other tailors. After all, they all have the same fabric selection. I base this review on personal experience, having been by 3 other tailors in Ho Chi Minh City.
