Nice enough museum. It's free and you don't need an awful lot of time to get through and it has a neat little shop as well.

National Folk Museum of Korea is located within the grounds of the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Jongno-gu Seoul
In 1975, when the National Museum moved onto the grounds of Gyeonbokgung Palace it moved along with it into the Modern Art Museum Building. In 1993 it opened in its present site, which was the former site of the National Museum of Korea
It has been around since November 8, 1945, when established by the US Government.

I enjoyed touring this combined indoor and outdoor museum of Korean folk culture. Some of the visual displays are extremely awesome. You can sit on a rock or walk into the changing immersive digital display/exhibition and become a part of The Mysterious Village. This is a top 10% decile in Korea, and offers most of the displayed information in Korean and English.

Visited due to needing an indoor place as it was raining. When it rains in Korea it really rains! The museum was very interesting, showing the history and culture of Korea. There were interactive games and English translations. They also have a children's museum. The shop had some nice pieces. Only trouble is that there is also a lot to see in the outside area, so I still ended up getting soaked. Easy to get to and free to enter.

This is free to enter. I am guessing most people will go to Gyeongbokgung Palace. The museum is linked to the palace from the back. I would definitely recommend going after visiting the palace. For a free museum, there is a lot of good information mainly on the lives of Korean people and how this has changed over the years. If your interested in learning about clothing, work, family life and more then go. Well laid out and very easy to understand. Clean. There is a museum shop and small cafe inside too. I spent about an hour browsing which was good for an overview. You could easily spend two hours or so in there. Medium sized so not too big. The building appears big but it's very spacious. I had visited the palace and was feeling a little tired, debating whether to go. Glad I went. It's not a history museum, more factual and good for children too. One thing, you cannot go back into the palace after you visit the museum so finish your palace visit first.

We visited this museum after visiting one of the palaces. It is clean, well laid out, and had enough English to make us feel we really understood what we were looking at.

Purtroppo non siamo potuti entrare per vai del covid....o forse per il capodanno cinese ma da fuori era veramente bello; proprio di fianco del palazzo reale ha una Scalinata enorme all’ingresso con immensi giardini di dietro. La prossima volta non mancheremo

очень интересное место, отражает именно культуру Кореи и её особенности, рекомендую к посещению, особенно если вы будете на территории дворца Кёнбоккун (вход в музей бесплатный). Перед входом находится интересная композиция знаков восточного гороскопа. В самом музее много интересных экспонатов, а изготовлению кимчи посвящена целая экспозиция в виде жанровых сценок процесса. Вы узнаете как изготавливаются ткани для ханбоков с момента посева семян растений, до момента получения готового изделия, так же увидите историю жизненного уклада корейского народа с древних времен до основания Чосона
