Very rudely greeted at the door to be told to use a website that didn't work to make a reservation.
I spent some time trying to get the website to work, which asked to collect my personal information. The only slot it said was available was hours later.
I went here last year and did not need to do this, so I am not sure why it's done this way now.
I would just avoid this place.

We arrived on Sunday to visit the museum.
The museum reception lady informed us (rudely) that reservations are made (only) online.
As their reservation site is in Korean, it took 3 minutes to convince her to help us with the (mobile) reservation...everything was "sold-out" for the day.
We tried to make a future reservation using their web site; they request to confirm the reservation via e-mail or (Korean) phone number - the site has a bug- impossible to make any reservation.
We tried via mobile...they were supposed to send us a confirmation number to our e-mail.
Never arrived, so no reservation and no museum visit.
Very disappointing when is dealing with a leading Korea museum.

Let us start with the huge negative. You need to book in advance to go to the museum - even for the free section well in advance. Is this written in any guide? Noooo. We were lucky that we would be in Seoul for 10 days that we managed to book with difficulty - for each section separately. The huge positive, the collection is brilliant and well laid out and impressive and unique in many ways. Definitely worth going. The museum shop was a bit of a disappointment when compared to other art museums. The area surrounding the museum is upper class with super coffee shops and other boutique shops.

Same experience like here, concerning i went extra to this museum, they weren’t helpful at all. Like u can read in the Comments without any reservation no entry

Very frustrating experience to travel all the way to this museum which is a little bit out of the way. You cannot answer even the free exhibition without a reservation. This is something that the website doesn’t tell you. It is very annoying that even with the relaxing of the Covid rule, so many places in Korea are still so backward. Wasted my time and it’s a shame

Whenever my friends from overseas visit Korea, I take them to this museum. All of them really enjoyed. Not only their special exhibition but also the permanent one-Korean traditional art is great.

Architecturally stunning and a wonderful summary of Korean art from ancient to contemporary. Sadly we only had the time to visit one of the two museums, but what Ee did see was wonderful. Beautifully presented and carefully curated balance between historical and contemporary. This beautiful museum is well worth visiting. It is also free. The shop has some exquisite items in it which I could have gone crazy buying.

The museum has a free exhibition and a special one which has an entry fee of 12.000 won. We limited ourselves to the free section. It is an interesting blend of modern art and more dated objects, mainly around 13th century from Korean history. Everything nicely diplayd and arranged over 4 floors, spaceously laid out.

Das Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art in Seoul ist für jeden Kunst-Interessierten ein Must! Die Architekten des Museums sind Rem Koolhaas, Mario Botta und Jean Nouvel.
Die Architektur sowie zb eine Mega-Installation von Ólafur Elíasson und Ausstellungen von Top-Künstlern wie Donald Judd, Anish Kapoor, Yves Klein, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol uvm. machen den Besuch zu einem beeindruckenden Erlebnis! Nebenan ist auch gleich die Seoul-Dependance der Pace-Gallery!

This is an amazing museum. We only did pavilion 2 which is the modern art . The building design and execution is amazing. There was an excellent collection of really interesting pieces . The free audio interactive guide was the best I have ever used . A truly memorable place to spend a morning!
