I am writing this review for Photographers who want to visit the Falklands. Best islands Volunteer, Saunders, Sea Lion , Carcas. To see all the different species of penguins. The babies of all the penguins and the Albatross on Saunders are being born and running around in December. We were there Dec.8 Thru January 1. Spend at least 4 days at each island as one day is spent traveling. On Saunders make sure you stay two days at the Rookery and 2 or 3 days on the neck. It is well worth it. The Albatross can only be found on Saunders.

Had a wonderful trip to the Falkland Islands, beautiful scenery, wonderful wildlife, friendly people. The small town of Stanley was very pretty and had a few pubs to visit. Went to see some battlefield sites which were very moving.

I visited the Falkland Islands in early March as a stop on a South American cruise. I suspect we were the last group allowed on the island before the quarantine. We were two couples that did not pre-book a tour, but looked for a tour guide on the pier when we arrived. There were several guides there, but only one who was an officially licensed guide. While he did not actively try to "sell" us, he told us his qualifications and his fee and left it to us to decide whether to use him or an unlicensed guide. We chose him - his name is Zoran Zuvic. I cannot imagine that we would have gotten as complete and enjoyable day with anyone else. He was one of the best private guides I have had in all of my travels. Zoran is born and raised in the Falklands, was educated in England, served in the Falklands military, represented the Falklands in international athletics and now works as a science teacher and part time tour guide. He is extremely articulate and intelligent. Most importantly, he is enthusiastic and proud about his home and communicates his passion for the Falklands to his guests. He is initially quite reserved, but once he warms up, he is very interesting and a lot of fun. He packed a tremendous amount into out six hour tour so we got a great sense of the island, saw the penguins, learned the history, etc. He was very responsive to the things that interested us, and once he got to know us a little was able to tailor the tour to our interests. I cannot recommend him highly enough. We were very luck he was not prebooked that day - when the quarantine is over and you find yourself going to the Falklands I would recommend pre-arranging a tour with him. Even if he is booked, his wife is also a guide, so she might be able to help you. As an aside, we met his wife - they might be one of the most beautiful couples ever!

We wouldn't have thought it possible to enjoy a day beset with high winds and rain so much.
Zoran's knowledge of the battlefields and wildlife of the Falklands added so much to the day and our encounter with the penguins was memorable.

My husband and I stopped in the Falklands on a cruise to Antarctica. When we saw that several cruises would be in port that day, we scrambled to find a private tour. We lucked out in finding Zoran. it was a perfect day. He took us into battlefield sites, onto beaches with hundreds of penguins, to scenic views that nobody without his off road vehicle and his driving skills could get to. He even made us a delicious lunch so we could picnic on the bluffs overlooking the sea. Our memories of the day will last a lifetime.

A small group of 8 of us spent the day with Zoran and his wife Juliette on a private excursion while our cruise ship anchored in Port Stanley. We wanted to see a little bit of everything one can do in a day and Zoran planned a terrific itinerary. He was at the dock waiting for us when we arrived. We piled into two 4x4s and visited all the highlights - Bertha's Beach, Gypsy Cove, saw the wreck of the Lady Elizabeth, did a tour of Port Stanley then went up to Wireless Ridge where we learned more about the battle for the Falkland Islands and had a picnic at the sight of this historic battle. The view from there was spectacular, reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands. Zoran is an expert on the Falklands War but as a native of the Islands he could answer our many questions on any subject regarding the islands. It was the perfect day!

As I was in the Falklands for work I only had two days for tourism and was put in contact with Zoran. He drove us to multiple spots so that we could fly fish and the driving alone was an amazing off road experience. with Zorans incredible knowledge of history giving us in-depth conversation from when the falklands was discovered to present, pointing out many places where battles took place along the way. to then taking us to see the penguins and a brief battlefield tour. I look forward to coming back and experiencing the full day battlefield tours with Zoran in the future. Great guy and even better tour guide.

I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Our friendly guide Zoran was exceptionally good at recounting the events of the battle and answering our questions in incredible detail. Having taken veterans around the site he has been able to establish the route of various individual soldiers on the night in question and is able to put you in their footsteps. It’s a powerful, humbling and moving experience. We had good weather for our hike and the views were spectacular, by the end we had a strong grasp of the overall tactical situation as well as being able to see the conflict through the eyes of soldiers on both sides. There are many relics left behind that Zoran showed us which really brought the humanity of the situation home. An unforgettable day.

Checklist for the Bucket list. It’s a gorgeous place in the middle of the south Atlantic Ocean, home to a variety of penguins, dolphins and whales.
The people are so kind and proud to be “Falklanders” and part of the United Kingdom.

On our recent cruise to South America, one of the stops included The Falkland Islands. We decided to arrange a guide ourselves, we used Estancia excursions, they are fantastic, professional friendly and they know their stuff. David picked us up in a land rover and off we went. We travelled over some really bumpy terrain, if you suffer with a bad back or neck then this trip might be too much for you. It’s really bumpy but when you arrive at Volunteer point and see the penguins ooo my it’s so worth the bruises. They are amazing so playful, so elegant and yet clumsy. It’s a trip that will stay with me for ever.
