A good memorial to those who lost their lives in world war one, not very far from the 1982 memorial which says something about human kind

Just a short walk (West) from Stanley’s Government House, this prominent memorial remembers the Battle of the Falklands, a battle between British and German fleets in late 1914.
A figure (Victory) overlooks the battle site, holding a palm branch and orb in different hands. Over 90 years old, it is said to be the most Southerly memorial to WWI and as a tribute, locals partake in a public holiday on the historic day (8th of December).
The monument has stood the test of time and sits in an excellent condition.

This is a monument to commemorate a battle between the British and Germans in World War One. It is a beautiful monument. Look for the bullet hole in the sail of the ship on top. It was apparently put there by an Argentinian during the Falkland occupation.

Memorial em homenagem aos soldados mortos em batalha ocorrida na ilha durante a I guerra mundial. Fica num morrinho na orla, de onde se tem uma bela vista da cidade, com destaque para a Catedral.

Our guide drove us by here and as he did, he pointed out several bullet holes in parts of the memorial. As we were strolling the town later on, we were better able to see the holes. Quite eerie.

An Argentinian evidently shot this sail as I was told, although this memorial is to commemorate WWI, not the falklands war against Argentina. That’s a little tip our driver told us who was quite proud to be a Brit and not an Argentinian.

Poderia repetir a mesma avaliação que fiz do outro monumento dedicado aos heróis da guerra: como arquitetura, são absolutamente inexpressivos; geram no máximo uma reflexão.

Place to visit as part of Stanley Harbour walk though an interesting memorial in itself. Good views along the harbour and of the Old Jhelum wreck

Overlooking Stanley Harbour, Battle Memorial serves as a reminder of the Battle of the Falkland Islands. British forces destroyed German invaders to prevent the capture of this colony in 1914. An annual ceremony is held here every December 8 in remembrance of this fierce battle.

I don’t know the answer to this question for certain. I don’t recall seeing any wreaths there but I also didn’t see any sign saying you couldn’t place a memorial object there.
