Amazing museum for a small town. Goes through their history with many displays and biographies. Has a small shop as well. The Falklands war also makes up a large section of the displays.

Excellent museum, well worth a visit with a wide range of artefacts, covers times gone by, wildlife and nature, the conflict and lots of old buildings showing how things used to be 100 years ago.

Two floors of this quaint museum, typically I dont personally pay but for cruise visitors entry $5 fee is waived if you show ship card.
Nice section to commemorate those lost in 1982 battle with short video in the kids eyes, now grown of course, so sad to see the wall of those young men lost way too early in life, some as young as 18.

Such a brilliant museum telling the story and if the Falkland Islands and its people. Fascinating exhibits abound and are very informative and well laid out. The conflict is covered very well but it is in no way the dominant theme of the museum. Much more of the history of the islands is also covered. If you’re in Stanley you MUST visit.

Very good museum made up of many rooms dealing with different aspects of life on the Falklands. As might be expected there is a large section devoted to the 1982 war, particularly worth reading are some of the personal accounts of residents from that period that make up a large section of one wall. Could have spent longer exploring the various buildings around the main museum but had to return to our cruise ship

Excellent museum of Falklands history, especially the war. The displays shows what individuals were doing during the war and occupation.The development of islands and exploration is also covered. Nice natural history displays.

Can’t believe free entry could believe the amount of items on show natural history upstairs other stuff downstairs could spend hours and hours in here lots of stuff on the war very moving and staff were amazing a box for donations is outside please give this needs to keep going to allow people to see the history of this island

Many interesting displays, takes awhile to get through it, covers the 1982 war with Argentina too & info on Antarctica - could probably have spent a full day here.

JednSasha - We visited in March and although my husband is a veteran and mentioned this to the lady at the entrance we both had to pay full fee, so unless this is a recent change to policy, veterans do not get free entry here.

Sorry, I have only just seen this. Apologies for the slow response. 1982 veterans are free of charge. I do apologise and I don't understand why you were charged. We will ensure that all our staff are reminded that 1982 veterans are free. We have never had this before so please accept my apologies.

I d not recall any enterance fee and if there is it will only be nominal and still certainly worth a visit.

Hi, I went by way of a cruise trip and the cruise company arranged transportation for us to the town centre where the history museum is located and then other attractions as well. So I suggested that you check with your travel agent on land transportation. Have a pleasant trip!

I went on a Saturday but they are open on sundays too, according to their web site (2pm to 5pm). Google their site, lots of info there.

We will be in Stanley on Saturday the 30th of January '16. Will the museum be open that day? We are cruising with P&O Arcadia.
