Nice walk along the the seafront from the jetty in Stanley quite a touching experience to visit I felt it was an honour to be there and pay respect to the brave chaps who did what they did for our country in the darkest hour

As we travelled along Ross Road towards the Shorty’s Diner junction, the Stanley Cemetery appeared on our right. Although primarily public, there was a prominent commemoration to those who served in both World War I and II.
Military personnel, numbering 33 in total, rest within the grounds (all of which fought for the Falkland Islands Defence Force). As well as public and HMS Kent related burials, a monument stands at the entrance to remember those who sacrificed everything.
Very moving and fitting - a fairly well maintained and cared for area that will always overlook Stanley in all it’s glory.

Our guide, who himself was part of the 1982 war, took us here for a short visit. Glad he did. Seeing all the tombstones all with the same date on them was very sobering.

It is a somber place but a good remember when for anyone wanted to reflect back on the happenings here in 1982. It contains the remains of 237 Argentinian Soldiers who died here during the Falklands War.

As we were tendered into Port Stanley from the ship, you can see the cemetery on the side. The cemetery overlooks the harbor. I think this is the first time I have ever seen a cemetery by a body of water.

Visited the cemetery to pay my respects to a lovely couple that we stayed with in Stanley after the surrender in 82. It was good to get in out of the cold wind and rain/snow after 3 and half weeks in it.

This cemetery is moving as one considers the regrettable experience of the Argentine invasion and the deaths that resulted. Tragic and worthless, directed by idiots. Come and respect the dead.

Many of the locals are burried here as well, as the soldiers of the first word war. Nice to have a quick stoll around, before visiting the memorial woods. The cenotaph is directly outside.

I like to see what names and families you find in cemeteries. Not for everyone, but worth it if you do.
