Excelente experiência, construções bem conservadas, grande parte da área livre para pedestres, muita opção de bares e restaurantes, fiz o circuito todo caminhando na companhia de um guia local. Achei a experiência melhor que o city tour de ônibus ou van, caminhando conseguiu acessar locais que não iria entrar no city tour de ônibus. Foi uma tarde toda de visitas e muitas histórias sobre os pontos históricos.

Das Zentrum von Lima wurde in den vergangenen Jahren verschönert und grosszügig renoviert. Die Strassen sind sauber und durch die grosse Polizeipräsenz sicher.

Lima é um cidade vibrante e o seu centro Histórico é Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO. Bem conservado e com policiamento. Vale a pena aproveitar as ruas sem calma e apreciar suas belezas durante um passeio.

muy bonito, con edificios coloniales, me hizo recordar un poco al centro de Bs As ( por los vallados y cantidad de gente, descontrol de transito tambien)

Seguir gozando del centro de Lima es una experiencia renovada, nuevamente se puede lograr ello porque hay mayores vías recuperadas y amplia, además que un sinfín de negocios donde disfrutar de buena comida o bebidas. Imperdible a la hora del almuerzo, frente a Palacio de Torre Tagle (Cancilleria) el restaurante Agua Vive, donde misioneras preparan delicias a precios muy cómodos, en una casa colonial, muy fresca. No se lo pierdan

Es una verdadera lástima que un área tan emblemática y bonita de Lima la tengan completamente amurallada y aunque claramente te veas como turista, los policías (algunos, no todos) de muy mala manera te restrinjan la entrada. Es un lugar ideal para caminar, conocer, comprar, tomarse fotos y disfrutar, pero con estas restricciones, no se puede ver gran cosa, todo te limitan y la verdad uno se va un poco decepcionado.

We were on a tour and we mostly ventured down a large main street of shops, restaurants and bars. Though along the way, there was some interesting architecture and historical buildings.

My partner and I visited while staying in Lima, about a 40 min Uber from miraflores, £6 . Historical centre was gorgeous, lots to look at, unfortunately churches where closed due to work. But it was a great day out. Fantastic architecture.

Hola, visitar el centro histórico de Lima, es tener un paseo de no menos de 4 horas, recorriendo sus calles antiguas, sus plazas, sus monumentos, sus iglesias... y por qué no sus restaurantes. El centro Histórico de Lima está aproximadamente a 8 Km de Miraflores. Saliendo de tu hotel en Miraflores te toma entre 45 a 50 minutos llegar al centro. Hay taxis, buses y colectivos que te llevan y traen.

I don’t know any hotels near airport. Airport area is not a good area. I recommend Mira Flores if staying one night. Taxi will cost you about 30 to 40 soles. Grab a taxi in the airport. Only authorized taxi can enter the airport.

Hi,
So I would arrive in Lima in the evening from Cusco. I have the whole of next day to spend in the city. I would spend time along the board walk in the first half and head to the center in the second half, and end the day with the musical fountain. I will be staying in Mira Flores. Does this sound like a reasonable plan given that I just have a day in Lima? Thanks for your advice!

One huge tip, do NOT use Taxis, do not use public transportation, UBER is super cheap there, and they are there within a few minutes if that long

Is it preferable for a woman traveller to choose a hotel in barranca or Miraflores rather than in the Centro Historical?

Miraflores is a very desirable place to stay. The Centro Historico is identified as perhaps the second best. For our part we stayed in Miraflores and we're glad that we did. From there we were able to tour to all of the other major attractions easily. Mirabus tours were excellent.
