La Palais présidentiel est un des plus jolis bâtiments de la Capitale Sao Tomé. Vous pouvez vous approcher mais pas photographier de près. Le longer et regarder sa beauté suffisent.

Spaziert man durch die Stadt kommt man zwangsläufig am Palast vorbei. Besuchen kann man diesen nicht. Die Grünanlage ist gepflegt aber etwas besonderes ist dieses rosafarbene Gebäude nicht.

Um palácio imponente e bonito, anterior a 1974 e uma das construções deixadas pelos Portugueses. Não se pode visitar nem tirar fotografia.

bonito por fora, no entanto não se pode visitar. caso se tente tirar uma foto temos os guardas a reclamar, vá se lá saber porquê. o presidente nem sequer vive lá.manias europeias....

Best maintained building in Sao Tome with nice cars. Not allowed to take photos apparently. Look at the cars and wonder why the money is not spent on the poor.

Mentionner ce site ne sert pas à grand chose car on ne peut le photographie de près (je me suis fait réprimander alors que j'en étais encore éloigné)... la bâtisse est belle mais les gardiens vous prennent des suspects et sourcillent du regard, on ne peut pas non plus photographier les gardes dans leur guérite, contrairement à la plupart des palais de ce genre dans le monde

Realmente esta construção se destaca pela beleza e pela sua arquitetura. Uma obra deixada pelos portugueses após a colonização e agora parece que funciona como moradia do governador! Não permitem a entrada de visitantes

Whatever one can say about Portugal's colonial past, one has to admit that they left some great architecture behind. As before on my trip to Cape Verde Islands here again on São Tomé one encounters an attractive town, as not too many to be found in Africa.
One of the main buildings, and near the cathedral, is the former Governor's Palace, now euphemistically called the 'Palacio do Povo' (People's Palace), when it really is the heavily guarded President's Palace, not open to the public. It is an attractive pink neoclassical building, although its origins are apparently not well known.
I tried to imagine governor Luis Bernardo Valenca in here in 1905, the main character of Miguel Sousa Tavares superb bestseller 'Equador', which I had been reading, while here. And I also tried to imagine my great-grandfather Charles Noufflard, who only a few years later, had been the French governor of nearby Gabun.
