The temple is currently under renovation and only one part is opened. However they still charge the entrance fee of CNY 40.

I have been to this temple couple of times and I still can't get enough. Whole Gushan mountain area is great but this Zen (Chan in Chinese) temple really stands out.
There are marvelous huge trees as you approach it and they create magical atmosphere. The square in front of the temple is overarched by a huge tree and it's a great place to sit and enjoy.
Since April 2019, there is a direct metro line (line 2) that goes to the foothill of Gushan mountain. You can take a cable car from there or rent a car to the top (or even hike!)

This is a teaching temple for the Buddhist monks. I was lucky to go with me niece and her Chinese husband so I had a lot of translation done for me. Very peaceful to just have a walk around and see what is here. It has a great view of some of Fuzhou from up on the higher levels. They are restoring this place and are still actively teaching. Nearby there is the mountains where you can also explore and relax. Friendly monks will talk to you, as long as you speak or understand Chinese, for as long as you are willing to talk to them, again lucky I had a native Chinese speaker but also an incentive to push myself to learn the language. Come and relax with some great things to see.

The imminent monk Xu Yun was abbot here so I decided to come, it's a big beautiful temple. Unfortunately, very little was in English so I could not understand a lot of things, but the place seemed active and popular. It is located on top of a big hill. There also seems to be a place to eat but I came in the afternoon so did not try that. It was very much worth it and I would come here again.

How to go:
I took a metered taxi from my hotel in downtown to Gushan Main gate with cable car . Fare about 35RMB
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Going up the mountain:
Mini Van touts at the entrance at the foot of the mountain. 9 RMB per person.
Cable car up. 1 way 35RMB Return 70RMB
Walk and climbing stairs : FREE a lot stops and food/drinks pitstops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Views:
I took the cable car ride up is about 25mins to reach. You will see nice view of Fuzhou city and many trekkers below you.
The cable car station at the top is not really the top or peak.
To go to Yongquan Temple Gushan you will have to walk the mountain trek and stone pavements for another 20 minutes. Quite a walk from the cable car station to reach the temple. Other sites along the way can be avoided.
Temple entrance fee is 40RMB many locals will avoid this century old temple because of the price.
It quiet place good for Buddhist to take a look at this. But I am a tourist I travel from a place far away. I do understand the entrance fee is quite pricy to visit. Maybe the local take a cut from it rather than the temple monks. I treat is as part of my donation to the temple.
