Neben dem weltbekannten Relief von Mahabalipuram in Süd-Indien ist das Relief von Yeh Pulu das zweitgrößte Felsrelief der Welt. Es ist etwa 23 Meter lang und ca. 3 Meter hoch. Da es sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zur bekannten Sehenswürdigkeit „Goa Gaja“ befindet, kann man dies prima mit besuchen. Da Yeh Pulu nicht so besonders bekannt ist, verirren sich wenig Touristen zu diesem einmaligen Ort.
Das Relief wird in das 14. bzw. 15. Jahrhundert datiert und stellt Szenen aus dem täglichen Leben dar. Zwei Männer tragen mehrere Wildschweine, eine Person schaut durch eine Tür. Die Landschaft um das Relief ist ländlich geprägt und man hat schöne Ausblicke auf die Reisfelder. Etwa 100 Meter, vom Parkplatz kommend, befinden sich auf der linken Seite zwei kleine Tempelchen. Dazwischen ist ein Gesicht in den Stein geschlagen, das als Wasserspeier dient.

Schöner Spaziergang schon durch einen schmalen, mit Grün umgebener Weg bis zum eigentlichen Ziel. Leider keine Information vor Ort über die Geschichte.

Ein langer spannender Spaziergang führte uns nach Yeh Pulu. Dort lernten wir Bubu kennen, der den Göttern gerade das Mittagsopfer brachte - unter anderem Zigaretten für die Göttin Devi. Und uns dann mit seinem Jeep zurück nach Ubud brachte. Am Abend erlebten wir dann in Ubud noch eine Legong Tanz Vorführung im Puri Saren.

There is a beautifully preserved rock carving 26m long &2m tall about daily Balinese life: the farmer, animal hunting, women in community. The temple itself is tiny, small and not well maintained. 30k IDR access fee with free sarong included. 500m walk from parking by a nice rice paddies area, but not recommended if is to hot! Kinndly but strong refuse the locals who offer to show you the place, I heard them with a group speaking no English, no history questions answer, but high tip expected. Discover the place by yourself.

ゴアガシャからは車で数分の距離にある寺院という事で訪問した。駐車場から、田んぼの中を下って行くと壁面かに掘られた生活の様子が彫られた彫刻があり、その先は行き止まりとなっていたので、見るところは少ない。

We went to Yeh Pulu on a day we hired a driver to take us around and outside Ubud. It was 30k IDR to get in, at the entrance we were asked if we wanted a guide. As our driver came with us we declined, we were unsure what the circumstances would be regarding needing a guide and charges after reading previous reviews.
From the parking it was a walk past rice paddies, an art shop and cafe. Further down the path there is a small waterfall. The site itself is quite small but very scenic and interesting. Before going through the gates at the entrance you will need to put on a sarong (these were offered at the entrance - as we brought our own with us, I am not sure if this would be a charge or not). If you are interested in the history I would recommend getting a guide as there is little information at the site. There is a small temple at the end of the carvings, this is why you should wear the sarongs in this whole area.
This is close to Goa Gajah, we did not this when we visited Goa Gajah. The walk from one to the other seems quite long but it is quite easy to get to by car. We had a very good driver who knew exactly where to go, this definitely made a difference to our trip.

Arrivés sur place, vous devez vous acquitter de 2000 roupies pour l'emplacement d'un scooter, suivent 30 000 roupies/pers pour entrer sur le site (pret du sarong gratuit).
Attention aux "guides" à l'entrée du site! Une bonne explication sur papier suffit. Ce sont des scènes de la vie à observer.
Sinon le site est très joli.
La visite aurait pu être appréciée tranquillement sans la présence de guides insistants. Dommage.

We had the temple all to ourselves, it’s pretty small but well worth a visit if you’re in the area. We paid a local guide after buying tickets to tell us about the history and learnt so much. His English was great and it’s so nice to visit a lesser known sight and you felt like you were supporting the local community rather than trekking around another tourist attraction.

Ce temple n’a aucun intérêt ! Il n’y a rien à voir si ce n’est des sculptures sur 10 mètres ! Il n’y a personne qui visite et bien sûr le parking est payant !

The Yeh Pulu Temple is a bit outside of the city of Ubud. A nice walk along rice fields to the temple and the old reliefs.

You will be provided with a sarong and sash for your visit to the temple or holy place, though it doesn't really look like the temples you may be used to.
It is a very pleasant walk, but I found the guide's chat a little irksome.
