Normally, the trek is fine for children over 8 years old. You may want to book a private guide if your group needs a little more time and you do not want to be paired up with other passengers (normally, there will be one guide per every four passengers).

If you don't usually do any form of exercise, you'll probably struggle a bit. But the hike imo is doable. It got pretty steep around 2/3 of the way, especially when you're reaching the peak. There are alot of bits and pieces of volcanic rocks which make the road very slippery. Wear good shoes that have good grip.

They pick up from your hotel...i think locations are Seminyak, Kuta, Ubud and areas on the way...should be on their website?

Dear Subrina, Yes, we absolutely offer English speaking guides. Pickup at the Puri Gangga Resort is also perfectly OK. It is Tegallalang, and counts as "Ubud Area," when booking your location for pickup. (rates to vary by location). We look forward to hearing from you!

If you're thinking about it. Do it. I promise you as a random person from across the world you will not regret it. In all seriousness i didn't see one guide who was hurrying their group. The guides want everyone to enjoy themselves and take it all in. Our group of four had a couple of slips but nothing too dangerous, and at each slip our guide was there to offer a helping hand and some advice if needed. The climb up in the dark might seem daunting but we seemed to find it easier than going down in broad daylight. You'll see local kids running up and down like its nothing but there is absolutely no shame in sitting on your bum and shifting down bit by bit on the hard parts! :) Hope you go for it!
