Fun area. Many of the vendors sell the same merchandise. Bargaining is expected. There are some good souvenirs. Right in the center of Ubud it is a nice way to get off the busy streer.

So so so sad, once an iconic land mark for people to come see and experience is now narrowed down to once small lane of stalls, surrounded by construction and extremely heavy traffic it was not something worth seeing anymore, sadly
I have travelled to Bali 19 times and each time I loved the journey up to Ubud to visit here, I would spend hours looking through out all the stalls and delicately choosing handmade gifts for friends and family. Now it’s nothing like it used to be.

Great market to walk around and find local treasures. The art work is nice and you can haggle with the locals. They are so talented and friendly. Find a deal and they will pack it to take home. Bought some beautiful hand drawn oil paintings and hand carved wood pieces. Made some new friends and enjoyed supporting the local who are delightful people earning an honest wage.

This is a good enough place to waste a half hour or so on a walk-through.
This market is now on Jalan Karna - up the street from the Jalan Raya Ubud/Monkey Forest Road corner where a large building is under construction.
Lots of the same tourist offerings on show, but with nothing special or different from other things on offer in Ubud.
This place is not to be confused with the other (probably bigger and better) "Art Market" in Jalan Kajeng (beside Starbucks off Jalan Raya Ubud).

I always like to support local people, it is important, to make a contribution. However this is not an art market , it is stalls selling souvenirs and they are mainly selling the same items. A level or bartering is welcomed, you are paying a tourist premium on items

A must experience when in Bali. The market has so much to offer from anything to everything. Haggling is also normal and should be one of your skills.

Let’s be honest, this is not an Art Market. This is a bunch of stalls that all sell the same thing as many other markets in Thailand and Fiji do. They sell what they think the tourists will buy. The same tourist items just with Bali painted on it. Also watch for kids pick pocketing, (which I I want to clarify that this was the only time in Bali we saw this happen) . I was deeply disappointed but I have read good reviews for pre Covid times, so maybe in a few years it will get back to that. Cars also drive down the Middle of the markets as they are a functioning street.

Вся большая площадка рынка из нескольких зданий сейчас закрыта на реконструкцию, которая вот-вот закончиться. Просматривается огромный светлый дворец в перспективе. Работает только рыночек на улице , идущей от комплекса вниз по склону. Чтобы улочку найти требуется настоящее искусство. Указателей нет. Продавцы скучают. Цен можно добиться минимальных. Я себе купил интересную авторскую маску за 14 долларов.

We are visiting Bali from India. It's a four days trip. Could anyone suggest whether visa card or master card is okie for payment like food expenses or we should carry USD or IDR too. Also could you help with cost of food per pax and best place for vegetarian food.

Most places take credit cards in Bali but a few restaurants remain cash only. The meals are inexpensive compared to the UK and there is a wide choice. Many cater for vegan and vegetarian tastes so you will be well catered for. Enjoy your trip

Of-course, it's very much possible. Book a full day tour. The cab driver will pick you at 8 AM in the morning and will drop you back by 6PM. Sometimes traffic causes a delay, so be prepared for that.
Also, make sure to have a good, filling breakfast in the morning, so that you waste no time in halting for food again and again.

You can generally pay anywhere from around 120,000 idr up. Around 140,000 is fairly standard from my experience. Sometimes the smaller bags are more expensive than the bigger ones.
