The team and the experience at Ubud Botany Interactive are outstanding. We did the ricefields walk with Tiwi - she's friendly, relaxed, extremely knowledgeable and very ready to answer lots of questions. The concept is great - use these tours to understand what you are seeing in Bali, and reinforce and support the traditional knowledge practices of rural Bali.
I have previously brought university students to tours and workshops with Dewi and the team, and they were consistently rated the best thing they did in Bali. Ubud is great for yoga, Balinese dance and arts, food, markets, but do these tours to experience the way of life of the surrounding fields and villages. It's also a great break from the general craziness of Ubud. And the Jalan Kajeng community has a nice vibe.

The UBI team are fantastic! We did the rice fields tour with Tiwi, who helped us to understand how local people farm and live in nourishing relationship with the land. The team greet you with a lovely tea and are wonderful hosts. We learned about many medicinal plants and asked so many questions which Tiwi kindly answered. We got a fresh coconut, cut down for us on the spot! It helped us to understand what we were looking at in the beautiful rice fields, instead of just seeing only the beauty. There are fantastic oils, creams and balms in the store—it was hard to choose just some! Lovely to connect with these knowledgeable, local people.

My friend and I did the Natural Cosmetics Workshop with Dewi and her team, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our Ubud stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the time taken to help us make our Shampoo, Body scrub, Boreh and Sunscreen was excellent. All ingredients were explained, and to take home our own completely natural and hand made products was such a treat. All of their products are just fabulous, their Essential Oils are 100% pure and organic, and every cent spent goes back to the local community and to help keep the Business going.
Do yourself a huge favour and do a workshop or buy their products, you won't be disappointed :)

I was mainly interested in the essential oils. They were wonderful
.All distilled to the highest quality and standard. The perfumes were superb. I did get a bit carried away and purchased quite a few as i loved them all. Dewi is passionate about the quality of the oils.
We then made 4 productss which I Love. Shampoo Suncream Borach ( muscle ache rub ) Body scrub.
I would have done the tours as they looked like great fun and nice to learn abot the Balinese culture

I booked the Botanical Products Workshop to make your own organic shampoo, sunscreen lotion, body scrub and Boreh. Dewi instructed step by step and help us. I didn‘t know that I come back earlier from my hiking Trip, but the team was very helpful and I can make the morning workshop. We had a lot of fun and I learned some new things between about to make a organic shampoo with natural ingredients from the nature.🥰

I did the combined tour with my younger (teen) brother. Both of us really enjoyed the experience and cannot recommend this to anyone interested in Balinese culture, herbology, natural alternatives or authentic experiences. Dewi knew so much about the local herbs, flowers etc. and was welcoming from the start. After the tour, we made products to take home using the local natural products we had seen on our walk; we also personalised these by choosing which essential oils (naturally made) to infuse. Dewi also went out of her way to accommodate our schedule during the moon celebration period, which I am extremely grateful for. Overall I loved this experience and will definitely do it again next time I come to Bali.

We took the workshop and we had a lot of fun. We end up with 4 products which is really good.
She was very descriptive which added more to the experience.
The lady was kind enough to suggest us places to eat nearby which turned to be awesome as well.

We experienced a beautiful, educational walk through rice fields, and learned so much about native plants and local culture. Next, we were guided through creating several products with local products. What a fun, sweet experience. We are looking forward to returning with a group!

Ubud Botany Interactive (UBI) is a small Ubud tour operator whose office and classroom is located in JL Kajeng, just a 5-10 minute walk from Ubud Palace and Pasar Seni. They specialise in guided tours with the aim of giving their guests a better understanding of the traditional Balinese way of life that aims for the integration of nature, reglion and humans .
Follow Tiwi and Dewi's team on a walk through the nearby rice fields and learn about the plants and herbal medicines used on the island for food, healing and sustenance, including fresh coconuts. If you opt for a half-day tour, which I recommend, you'll also learn the basics of making your own natural cosmetics from the island's botanicals and essential oils in a small and entertaining workshop. High quality essential oils that are actually made by UBI and sold in their office.
If you are more interested in the traditions and religious life of Bali, UBI also offers an introduction to temple ceremonies. Here you will learn how to make your own offerings and how to put on the appropriate temple attire, before heading to the nearby village to the local water temple for a purification ceremony.
During my stay in Ubud, I spent two days with the UBI team and enjoyed their warm and approachable company. Whether it's plant life or tradition, the UBI team are more than happy to share their knowledge and experience with their guests. So, don’t miss UBI and pop into their office for any questions or some flexibility in the tour schedule. They will probably find a way to make it happen for you. I had two unforgettable and enriching tours that helped me to understand the Balinese way of life better than other guided tours around.

We spent 3 weeks in Bali and were fortunate enough to stumble into Ubud Botany Interactive one afternoon. I was on the hunt for some local products. I fell in love with the products and the staff right away. We signed up for the coconut oil distillery tour and ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT!!!! Tiwi and Dhika took us on the tour, which ended up being a trip to their home in their village. We learned how they make the coconut oil and watch their grandfather as he cooked it over his clay stove. We met Dewi and some of the other family members also. They were so warm and inviting. We had the best time and learned SOOOOOO MUCH about these kind people and their business and their products! I really wanted to do the botanical products workshop but we did not have enough time.
Side note: We were also able to hire Dhika as a driver/guide for several of the days we were in Bali. He has an air conditioned van he cruised us around in, answering all of our questions and telling us things about his country. His English is great and he is a very kind man.

Hello, how much ml are the bottles in which people can take the 4 products to home? And are they conserved - how long they stay fresh? Thank you :)

We have bottles 150 ml glass and 100 ml plastic, the products stay until 1 month but if you put in the refrigerator it will stay until 3 months
