Enjoyed our visit here. Beautiful art inside. There was also a place to do shopping to take home to family. A good place to visit.

It’s a nice place to visit where you can explore the local art - as it works as a gallery, of course is for sale, but still the art work is really amazing. Free of charge for entrance!

Sehenswerte Handarbeit.
Von handgemachten Skulpturen und Taschen, sowie afrikanischen Erinnerungen, über Kleidung und Schmuck bekommt man hier alles.
Anfangs wird man gleich mit afrikanischer Musik abgeholt und durch einen Guide durch den Laden geführt.
Es gibt überall kleine Läden mit unterschiedlichen Sachen.
Eintritt kostenlos.
In dem großen Museum waren wir nicht.
Es gibt auch ein Restaurant. Man kann hier viel Zeit verbringen und alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Wir reisen mit dem Rucksack deshalb haben wir nur Kleinigkeiten mit.
Preislich teuer aber ist auch Handarbeit.

A great place to share the wonderful arts and crafts of Tanzania. There are so many unique things to see plus books and maps of the surrounding area and the country itself. The art museum there is beautiful and the food delicious. It is the perfect place to purchase momentos of your trip. In this Tanzanian atmosphere there are souvenirs in all price ranges.

J'ai visité hier ce centre culturel, avec une magnifique architecture, où j'ai pu découvrir en un seul établissement, ce haut lieu présente plusieurs pans de l'art et de la culture africaine, avec possibilité d'acheter de nombreux souvenirs.

If you like arts and crafts this is definitely a place for you. There are some really cool things to see and the whole vibe and atmosphere is really nice. There are so many beautiful paintings and handmade crafts that you wanna buy everything. Unfortunately the prices are a bit high and we just bought a few small things.
Personally I would have liked some more alternatives than these fancy souvenirs but I guess those are the ones in the local markets and streets. Anyhow entrance is free and I really recommend a visit if you have some time to spare.

Überteuerte Verkaufsausstellung - zum anschauen sind viele Kunstobjekte sehr schön aber zum kaufen für Normalverdiener viel zu teuer. Das was man sich leisten könnte bekommt man auf dem Massai Markt für einen wesentlich besseren Preis

The gallery depicts the largest collection of Artists from Africa and the exhibition of Art is on consignment and the Artists have priced their work, so at least you enjoyed their work for free for we do not have an entry fee for the gallery.

We just returned from a 3 week trip to Tanzania to celebrate our 25th anniversary. After climbing Mt Kilimanjaro we wanted to purchase some souvenirs. Our driver took us to "Cultural Heritage" and I'm SO glad that he did! We had them make a custom tanzanite necklace as my anniversary gift (which is gorgeous!) and bought souvenirs for our family and friends. We enjoyed our time there so much that we returned a second time and would've returned yet again had our schedule allowed. This center has a ginormous assortment of jewelry, wood art, paintings, Maasi crafts, home goods etc. Anything and everything you'd ever want is located here. I felt as thought the prices were very reasonable.
I strongly and highly recommend you visit Cultural Heritage and give yourself plenty of time or plan on visiting on multiple days. There's so much to see!

We have led ecotours to Tanzania many times and always make a stop at the cultural center with a buffet lunch. Their food is terrific, the ambiance is excellent and you need time to wander the Gallery and shops. They sell everything from Tanzanite to the diverse wood carvings, batik, beaded items and other crafts of this nation with more than 125 tribal cultures. Set aside at least two hours for a visit here.

Thank you for the review. There is lots to see in the Art Gallery - antiques and handicrafts, bronze sculptures, wood carvings and paintings from all over Africa. One can spend a whole day here and enjoy lunch at our restaurants which serves delicious mouth watering cuisines. Thank you for the visit.

Hi, I purchased some tanzanite at the Cultural Centre on the 9th of January. It was a 0.7 carat stone, with four smaller stones and a small Tsavorite. I think I was served by Mr Khanbhai, who passed me onto another server when my card played up. I was able to finish my purchase with the card and cash I had on me (It was a constant problem in Africa wherein my card didn't like making large purchases!). So I still have the receipts for the purchase of which I'm quite pleased.. However, I had to race out due to my tour group leaving. Two questions: 1. Is it still possible to get a certificate for my stones? I only found out later that this was available as I have the receipts. 2. Is it still possible to buy gems from Mr Khanbhai, from Australia? He had good prices on the stones I saw.

I just returned from a wonderful visit to Tanzania, and noticed that many of the places we stayed had a game called "Bao" in the lodge area. I really wanted to purchase an authentic game while we were in country, but did not have any time to go shopping. Someone suggested the Cultural Heritage Center, and I found their website, but most of the links are broken and I cannot find out how to email them. Can someone help with an email address or perhaps suggest somewhere that I can purchase a Bao game made in Tanzania? Thanks!

I have a question for staff at the Cultural Heritage Centre. My husband bought me an expensive pair of tanzanite earrings as a birthday gift and they are mismatched, the stones and the settings are quite different.
