We had a great experience with our guide and the family that ran the cooking. Due to our small group we had the option to ride bikes and do a boat ride.
The food was great and the cooking experience at the Grandma’s house was great.

A fantastic day out. Really enjoyed the market tour with our guide and the boat trip was scenic before we began our cooking class. We cooked a range of tasty dishes. The bike trip was enjoyable and we got to experience a bit of life in rural Vietnam. Great guides and a really worthwhile day trip.

Absolutely loved our whole experience. Lucky our guide and cooking teacher was 100% outstanding, warm, friendly and very funny!!! Grandma’s house and garden delightful, serene and calm. Fascinating to make rice paper using authentic method and equipment. The food we made was next level…brilliant and will definitely try at home. The bike ride to village was fun meandering through local streets and great to be on the water with boat ride home! Definitely, definitely recommend this exceptional experience!

I took the class with my granddaughter who lives in Hoi An. Great class , I especially enjoyed the market tour. Vi was personable, knowledgeable, and fun.

I took a cooking class with Lucky in April and enjoyed it very much. It was on a small island away from the activities of Hoi An. She explained what we had to do very clearly and with humor. Had known more about the bicycle tour matching with this class, I would have taken it. It was going through these remote rice fields, on islands.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment avec Diem. La visite du marché nous permis de découvrir quelques fruits, légumes et herbes aromatiques que nous ne connaissions pas.
Le cours de cuisine dans la maison de village a été très agréable, bien expliqué et nous avons cuisiné de délicieux plats. C'était top!

De dag gestart met een bezoek aan de lokale markt. Omdat we met z’n tweeën waren hebben we zeer veel informatie gekregen.
Vervolgens met de fiets naar een eiland en daar gestart met uitleg over de traditionele manier van rijst verwerken. Vervolgens gestart met de kookcursus. Hele mooie recepten die goed te maken zijn, zonder dat je het idee hebt dat in een simpele toeristische cursus terecht bent gekomen. Echt mooie traditionele gerechten gemaakt. Onze instructrice heette “Lucky” een super enthousiaste en tikkeltje eigenwijze vrouw die het fantastisch deed.
Na de kookcursus nog een stuk gefietst over het eiland om vervolgens terug te keren naar het vaste land.

We did the full cooking class and bike tour and have to say it was the best time in Hoi An by far. The class was very hands on, well paced and the food was delicious although I would recommend that you don’t eat breakfast first and won’t need dinner after as the food was very plentiful.
This was followed by the bike tour for 3 hours covering a very easy 9km with lots of interesting stops and information
Our guide spoke amazing English and the team was humorous and attentive
Highly recommended

Amazing and very memorable experience in Hoi An. We visited the market in the morning, we then took a boat for 45min to a nearby but secluded island, where the grandma's place is located. We had our cooking class there - really well organised, and very enjoyable (definitrly come with space in your stomach!). After lunch I joined a cycling tour around the islands south of Hoi An, with virtually no tourists in sight. Thanks to our guides Loc and Trâm I learned so much about not just local food and landscapes, but also local life, crafts, history, culture, etc. They were also so fun and enthusiastic. I really cannot think of anything that would have made that day better.

Nous avons passé la journée avec Diem qui parlait très bien français.
Nous avons particulièrement aimé sa gentillesse et toutes les explications régulières qu’elle nous a données : tant sur le cours de cuisine, qu’au marché, sur le bateau ou encore dans la maison de la grand mère.

Hello do we get picked up from our hotel/hostel when booking this tour? If not where do we meet?

The meeting point was in old Hoi An, right by the market. We had our guide take us and then you have the option of biking or taking a boat to Grandma's house with Thom. We took the boat there and biked back and both were great! I think you could get a taxi there easily if you are not staying nearby.

The price for the cooking class only (morning or afternoon) isr is 30 usd.
If you like to do the market tour before the cooking class add 7,50 usd.
