The day I went there They have a lot of great products at very reasonable prices, and Hong always greets everyone with a smile!
My friend and I took the entire class and finished our lanterns in about 2 hours. Hong and his colleagues were extremely helpful and guided us through the process of molding and assembling the lantern.
If you're looking for things to do in Hoi An, I recommend this experience.

I bought 5 Latern for my home; they give for me good recommend to make it; and then they make it so fast. Would recommend them for all tourist; when visit hoi an. Thank you again!

This was a very fun one hour activity you can do on your own. Not quite as easy as it looks but it gives you a different way of interacting with the local environment, and the owner was not pushy about buying from her afterward. I did of course, having established some sort of relationship.

We turned up for the 9:00 class, which lasted an hour and a half at a fairly relaxed pace.
Despite general lack of artistic ability we both succeeded in making a small lantern from our choice of offcuts of silk.
For three dollars this was far less than the other classes in town. The group was small - only three of us - which allowed us to chat with our hostess inside the shop.
We sat at the typical tiny Vietnamese table next to an air con unit. This was good and bad as it kept us cool but made holding on to the silk a bit of a challenge sometimes.

We took the course for 3$ at 14.00. The lady, who was also working in the shop was very nice and tough us, how to do the small lanterns. The shop was not very busy, but sometimes she just had to got up and speak to the customers, which was ok, because we could work on our lanterns and not be in rush. She answered all our questions.

I brought 4 items from this shop when I visited Hoi An in 2015 - two cream colour lanterns (one large; one medium) were made-to-order and 2 small lotus shaped lanterns lamps. The cream colour lanterns were delivered straight to my hotel the other day. I didn't check them in Hoi An. When I opened them back home, I found the two lanterns 1) difficult to open 2) were not symmetrical in shape at all; 3) yellow glue was exposed. I wrote a number of emails to the shop but they refused to do anything, One small lotus lantern lamp is not working at all beyond repair. I was very disappointed at the quality of the items I brought from Long VY. At the end, all lanterns went to the bin without use at all.
This shop gives Hoi An a very bad name as Hoi An is called a 'lantern town'. I wouldn't shop there again and I would recommend you not too.

We went for the 9am lantern making workshop ($8 per person for the medium sized lamp). The shop owner was very busy during our class and kept leaving us to answer the phone and speak to customers as well as do stock work. However, we did finish the morning with a beautiful lantern to take home that we made ourselves which was the objective.
The price was very good compared to some of the other trips that we had seen and it was very convenient as we could just pop in to do the workshop rather than having a whole or half day trip out to do it.
The instructions given were sometimes quite vague and we did make a few mistakes but the owner helped us to correct these and finish the lantern. My husband squashed his and she gave him a mini lantern so that he had something to take away which was very kind indeed!
The shop itself looked very well stocked and there were many lanterns for sale. We did not buy any as we did not have a lot of space however heard other customers bartering and the prices were very good!

We were looking for a souvenir and compared to the street sellers or the night market Long Vy has an incredibly wide range of lanterns. Specifically, we were looking for a plain silk lantern without patterning woven into the cloth, which are only to be had at Long Vy's as it turns out.
