Thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Laman Padi fields in Langkawi. Our tour guide was super friendly and informative, she showed us the stages of rice cultivation, how to properly cut open and grate coconuts, the beautiful herb gardens and took us to see the water buffalos up close! We were given a very hands on experience, planting rice crops ourselves, using the traditional tools and we drank from fresh cut coconuts! Would definitely recommend paying a visit to this beautiful open plan museum if u are in Langkawi!

Lovely tranquil place. Excellent small museum, informative and interesting. The surrounding padi fields with water buffalo were very attractive as well as the herb garden. The area was beautifully maintained. One of the male employees was super helpful and took time to explain the various herb plants and let us smell them. His enthusiasm made the visit all the more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Det var et fint og interesant besøk både utendørs og innendørs. Greit å kunne gå i fred og ro å se på dyr, rismarker, museum mm. Eneste minus var at restauranten ikke var åpen for oss, som det stod på skiltet.

On my way to Pelangi for carrot cake and coffee I passed this abandonded looking mud field and wondered why it stood next to a luxury resort. It might once have appeared fine with the scarecrows standing in the rice field but now it seems only depressing.

Pretty disappointed with this. Looks like govt has spent a lot of money building this but they have failed to make it a success or even maintain it. The whole site lies pretty dormant. You walk in and nobody is interested, nobody to give info or anything. Only thing available is the eatery where they serve food and drinks. The paddi fields, though not that many, are somewhat interesting but with no info they are mystery. Perhaps they can charge an entry fee and do guided tours with food sampling.
Oh, beware there are some nasty ants at the far end. You step in that area and these things invade you feet and everything attached to them. I am back in the hotel and I still have bugging me.

Locale molto romantico si cena sdraiati su dei divanetti fatti tipo materassini di tessuto da un lato rialzato. Ogni tavolo basso, con i suoi relativi divanetti-materasso e' localizzato su una terrazza-palafitta in legno, per accedere bisogna togliere le scarpe. Il menù è scaricabile con il QR Code, una volta inoltrato lo preparano e ve lo portano. Noi abbiamo scelto il piatto misto di pollo e pesce per due persone (un po piccante) e in più all'ingresso di questa struttura siccome c'erano delle persone che facevano degli spiedini di carne, tra l'altro buonissimi, abbiamo trovato sempre sul tavolo il loro menù ed abbiamo ordinato un set da 7 spiedini che abbiamo pagato direttamente a loro. Per il resto invece, prezzi onesti come nella media, qualità buona. Attenzione, non dimenticare il repellente per zanzare perché essendo su una palude sicuramente di zanzare ce ne sono. Buon appetito

It's located at the end of Chenang Beach. Nearby are Pelangi Hotel and Casa Del Mar, two 5-star hotels. The Laman Padi has timber-structure accommodation surrounded by small paddy fields that qallow you to see the paddy planting and harvesting activities without leaving your room.

To eat at the special place as in the photo, you have to pre booked it and give some deposit or else on the day you come they wont allowed you to sit there & tell you its already been reserved. U can only sit at the normal dining table. Came here because i wanted to experience some "makan di tepi sawah feel" . For the price of food, its a bit pricey because the portion is not big. Btw photo & reality will not always same. So don't give high expectation. The taste is ok.

Agak mengecewakan makanan yang dihidangkan. Kuah udang sedikit dan mungkin terlupa nak bagi sambal belacan kot, bila minta sampai sudah senyap ja.. Daging belado hamis. Tak berbaloi dengan harga dibayar

The restaurant next to the Laman Paddi attraction is nicely located in The rice paddies directly at the main road but can transport you to the Kampung!
Unfortunately the menu is mostly not available. The service is terrible. Is it because of the long Covid pause? The food is Malaysian Nasi Lemak . Looks good but we did not try it. Could not wait that long. Just getting our drinks was complicated enough.
The staff is friendly but obviously not enough of them.
