Best place in Romania so far.

National Park. It is one of the magical places of the Carpathians. Perhaps the western road to the capital of Dacia. Starting from the second kilometer, the track is narrow, sometimes up to 800 mm, under the rocks. It is necessary to have sports shoes and be careful in the rain. The Bears are only on souvenirs at the entrance.

My friends from Cluj recommended we go here for a day’s trip and it was beautiful. The canyon is probably the most spectacular part, but there are many opportunities for hikes, visiting caves, or just taking a scenic drive. Romania has so many beautiful places worth visiting, and this is one of them. I’d love to come back someday!

Beautiful area to go exploring, hiking, mountain climbing or even just for a picnic! To get to Cheile Turzii, the best way is by car or going on a tour. I heard others say a taxi but I don’t know about that and I’m sure it maybe depends on which end you start at.
I went to mountain climb and it was amazing! So happy I did it. I booked a solo tour which for me, was the best way to go. He picked me up from the hotel, we had a great drive to the park and then he took me through the hills and mountain climbing. The views and scenery were beautiful! You can find tours on places like Get Your Guide and Viator (where I found mine) and I found a solo one which for me was the best way to enjoy the park - not being with a large group.
If you go to the park to mountain climb and you’ve never done it before, it can be challenging depending on where the guide takes you. If your experienced, then it will be no problem.
Please make sure when you go you don’t litter and you respect the park and nature. Your a guest there.

Simply a breathtaking place.Worth the visit, we found out about this place by chance, a local recommended it to us. It is a shame that such a beautiful place has almost no promotion. Hope this review will help it get the recognition it deserves.

Piękna trasa w górach w dzikiej scenerii wzdłuż rzeczki z kilkoma mostkami. Trasa niezbyt trudna, jednak trzeba uważać na mokre śliskie kamienie i na skręcenie kostki

Cheile Turzii îs an amazing gorge to visit from Turda. It is tough to get there without having a car. I took a taxi there and that was easy and around 35 ROM. Entrance to the gorge was free., The gorge itself is a great hike besides a river. The views on the gorge and the nature were impressive. Birding is great, seeing multiple different species. The route was a bit harder as there were some places with snow and ice, but it was pretty easy with only a couple of moments to climb. One way took about 45 minutes, but you have to go back as well. The way back to Turda was a bit tougher as there was no one to go back and hitchhiking until a bus station was necessary. Overall is was a fantastic experience.

Wir sind unten durch die Schlucht gewandert, tlw abenteuerliche Brücken, rutschige Steine und schmale Wege am Hang (tlw mit Festhalte-Seilen).
Am Ende als der Rasen anfing sind wir nach der Bank rechts hoch gewandert/geklettert (rote Punkt-Route).
Diese Kletter-Wanderung war recht steil, tlw etwas rutschig, aber für Wander-Anfänger mit Turnschuhen und mit 5-jährigen Kind machbar (Wasser nicht vergessen); die Route war fortwährend gut ausgeschildert.
Die Aussicht ist spitze und der Abstieg auf der anderen Seite ist ok; nur im Wald ist etwas rutschiger/steiler. Unten angekommen erwarten einen Toiletten und ein gutes Restaurant.

Amazing spot just 40 mins away from the city. Just make sure you bring proper climbing shoes as the cliffs can be slippery.

How much does a taxi cost from Turda to Cheile Turzii/Turda Gorge? And will taxis be available there to take us back into town a few hours later? I would like to avoid renting a car, but if the taxi is expensive or difficult to obtain for a return trip, that may be a better option. Thanks!

I do not know how much it costs to go by taxi to Cheile Turzii, but I think that's pretty much it. You could go with a city bus to Cheia and from there to walk because it is close! checks on the map. but via ferrata route it can only be done in summer or spring when it not rain

Hello everyone! We are going to visit this place next week. How exactly can we reach the entrance? We are starting from Turda, so are there any road signs or which direction should we take? Can we just trust the GPS navigator to find the place? And what is the difference between Cheile Turzii and Turda Gorge? Are they the same places?
We want to take appr.one hour walk inside the canyon, so we are interested in finding entrance to exactly this route.

JHi, I am planning a hike in Cluj area. How can I reach Cheile Turzii by public transportation from Cluj or Turda?
From cluj there is a minibus of a company called FANY to turda.costs 7 lei per person.
From turda you can take a taxi for 35 lei. Ask for the driver's number to call for a lift back, or ask the resturaunt to call one
