A very nice way to get a great view of Osaka. The entrance is a little difficult to find because we were looking for a ticket office and then found ourselves standing in the entrance area of the cinema, where we were looked at in a rather perplexed manner. To help others find their way around: You go up in the elevators, which you reach via escalators and a corridor that branches off to the left. The ticket office area is when you exit the elevators.
We were there very late in the afternoon and were lucky because it was still busy, but not too busy. As always, you have to wait.
The view of Osaka is breathtaking. There is an indoor and outdoor area. You are not allowed to take any objects outside that could blow off the roof. Umbrellas are not allowed to be opened.
On the outdoor terrace, they used paint that reacts to black light, which is illuminated by the same black light at night. Very nice effect, of course also on the visitors' clothing.
We found the entrance fee to be completely reasonable.

Before 3 p.m., walk from Osaka Station to the Umeda Sky Building and go straight up to see the Floating Garden. Use the E-pass to enter for free. You can walk around the Floating Garden Observatory and look down on the Osaka cityscape under a clear sky. It was amazing that the architectural designer came up with a very good idea.

We had one of the most beautiful, memorable and romantic view of Osaka and its surroundings all because of Umeda Kuchu Teien Observatory!!! Located on top of the 173m tall Umeda Sky Building, which consists of 2 towers connected via the Floating Garden Observatory at the 39F. We went there late spring, on a one cool sunny Spring day. It was around 6 in the Evening and just the perfect timing because the sun is just getting set over the horizon. We booked our tickets via Klook for about 13 SGD and we claimed our tickets by showing the QR code on site which is quite easy. Lucky we went around that time because we were in for the most stunning and romantic sunset of our lives!!
Kuchu Teien is located on top of Umeda Sky building, which is a mixed-used complex located at Osaka’s Kita-ku district. We used our Osaka Metro pass from Shin-Osaka and alighted at Osaka station via North Central exit and from there its walkable for about 10 mins. Upon arriving the the building, you could definitely see already from the grounds the Observatory at the top with its 2 massive escalators. Once you entered the building, you would have to go through a very fast, glass door Elevator up to 35F with a stunning view of the outside feeling like your flying up in the air. But wait there’s more - from there you would have to take the iconic, aesthetic Escalator with arched glass roof located at the 35F that will go all the way up to the 39F. In fact one of the longest escalators we’ve tried similar to Shibuya Sky but this one is indoor and covered. This escalator connects both sides of the tower so you would have a clear view of them whilst traversing - what a genius idea. At the 35F, we also noticed a big, round glass window with a Bird’s eye view of the city below and took some special photos there. Then lo and behold you have arrived at the Floating Garden Observatory which has 3 areas - indoor at 39F/40F and the absolutely wonderful outdoor area (Rooftop) which serves as the backdrop of my Excellent review!!
The first thing that caught my attention was the intricate and modern glass and metal based structure of the observatory from the inside and out. Its a round about walk and the inside is enclosed with Glass panels but you have a full view of outdoors including the sky, sunset and the skyline of Osaka but the real deal is outside “the rooftop” which can be accessed by stairs. The cool, crisp late Spring winds and the adoring sunset over the horizon greeted us the moment we went out. From here we have a Bird’s eye view of the skyline, the sunset and the interior of the building where the 2 long escalators that traverses both towers from 35F to 39F could be seen - what an amazing architecture and engineering marvel it is. If Tokyo has the new Shibuya sky, this has been there for a long time in Osaka. Despite the packed crowds on top there are so many spots and angles where you could enjoy the views, take those memorable shots, immerse yourselves and cherish this spectacular moment. However, the best views are where the crowds could be seen and that is the West side of the deck where the Sunset is setting down over the horizon amidst the skyline of Osaka and the Yodo river the cuts through the city up to Osaka bay. It is a bit crowded at this side and packed with tourists, local and most especially avid photographers who have the camera and lenses positioned perfectly to capture that glorious sunset moment.
We tried to squeeze in at this spot and still managed to and capture some special and unforgettable moments with the sunset despite the crowds. One thing we also noticed at the rooftop is the soft cushioned covered flooring which glitters during the night - we would try nighttime view next time we come back here. The Floating Garden also has at Sky cafe and restaurants on site - cafe Sky 40 at the 40F, a cute romantic Heart Lock where you could put your love locks, Sky Lounge at the 39F and Chinese restaurant Sangu also at 39F. After taking a lot of special and memorable photos and videos we decided to call it a day and left the premises just after an hour with a happy heart. It was indeed a very unique, incredible, romantic and treasurable moment to visit Umeda Sky and Kuchu Teien observatory because at just 13 SGD you have the best view of the city on top, a romantic sunset, a high-tech escalator and the best moments of your life on top of the city of Osaka, one of Japan’s famous destinations and surely you will long again to come back just like us!!! See you soon Umeda Sky and Kuchu Teien observatory - the Eyes of Osaka!!! Mata neh :=)

The building is an interesting design and the observation deck is quite cool especially as you can go outdoors. But we felt that the view wasn’t great and we preferred Abena Harukas. If you have to choose I would recommend that one instead.

Crazy viewing platform erected on top of two adjoining building towers, interconnected with glass escalators! Unique experience! Good views from the circular viewing "observatory."

Observatory that will not leave you indifferent
Modern, with excellent views and part that is outside
It is definitely worth it
Furthermore, the entire surrounding area is worth exploring.

If you buy the Amazing Pass, it is absolutely worth to visit the observation deck. You have to use an escalator to access to the top. The enclosed escalator is outside the building, which is really cool. My knees were a little weak when I realized that.
If you go there during evening, you will see the sunset which is stunning.

This is one of those "observatory" visits one must do when visiting a city with a high tower but this one is a bit different in the way they basically constructed a massive viewing platform suspended between two towers. The novel nature of the construction makes it more interesting than usual and the ability to go outside, similarly. At 1500 Yen it's a bit more pricey than other things in Japan but compared to other world cities, the experience is quite cheap. It cost us four times as much to go up the Shanghai Tower.

Hola! Hace 3 semanas que estuve en Japón, la entrada nos costó 1000 yenes.

Is it free or there's an admission ticket
Đã viết vào 3 tháng 4, 2016
It is not free, but ticketing happens after you go up the building. There are four floors (including the roof garden) that are accessible after you go up the building (before paying), but the top two cannot be seen without the admission ticket. If you really want to have a look but you don't want to pay, I suggest that you can go up and look through windows (they are not the best because it shows the middle of the building and very little of Osaka's view) because there are restaurants and gift shop that is accessible to everyone. I do suggest you go up after paying though. It is beautiful to see it from the very top.

Olá, Raquel, me chamo Raquel também. =)

Hi. How many kilometers is the 3 hour tour? How about the 6 hour tour? I ask because the most I have gone biking is 20 kms in 2 hours. And my wife only half of that.
Also can I bike in walking clothes? I don't want to pack cycling outfits.
Thanks in advance.
