This is one of the nicest group of folks you'll ever meet - mind you I haven't mentioned the yummy food and drinks they offer. It's the people who make Greenbean fabulous. My ukulele group uses this space to jam one Sunday afternoon per month. Greenbean is very open to having artsy folks come and in and do things like this. They offer open mike through out the year on their schedule and during Let's Make Music Day, had multiple sets throughout the day. This kind of stuff doesn't interfere with their business - it only enhances it. One of the coolest things I noticed immediately - they are inclusive to everyone - including their huge unisex onesie bathrooms which are amazingly clean. And now they are opening a SECOND location at the former Bon Secours hospital, now Greystone Grand Piazzo. That shop will be huge. Move over "big seattle based coffee shop" - you cannot compete with someone like Greenbean.

Stopped in on my way to my family’s home for New Years and was astoundingly surprised by this Manhattan esque coffee shop in the middle of Altoona. Superior coffee , great tasting pastries coupled with friendly warm staff and a communal home like feeling is the recipe for this establishments Success! The place was packed and originally I thought let’s go somewhere else, however hearing several people waiting and in talking with some of the locals their reviews were stellar! We were going to use the drive thru but felt compelled to walk inside after hearing so many positive statements. We learned that the Green Bean coffee house is very active and prominent in charity work within the community which embraces the principals of social and communal responsibilities. Make sure you definitely stop in and get yourself immersed into a non franchise, intimate home like feeling and experience! Green Bean coffee house not to be missed!

New to Altoona, approximately 9 months old. Small interior but very well designed and furnished. Unique to have drive-up and that keeps busy, good job. Good selection of coffee and tea products.
