The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur is the oldest museum of the state and functions as the state museum of Rajasthan, India.The lighting and architecture is awesome you will fall in love with this architecture. Entry fees is only 50 rupees and photography is allowed inside. The museum has a rich collection of artifacts including paintings, jewelry, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, and works in crystal.

Tout d'abord ne fuyez pas devant la vision globale du musée. En effet, les extérieurs ne sont pas forcément des plus avenants : le musée sert de pigeonnier géant à des nuées de volatiles et les alentours sont un repaire de vendeurs à la sauvette et de nombreux terriers de rats... le tout au milieu d'une circulation assez dense et bruyante.
Le bâtiment en lui-même fut décidé lors de la visite du Prince de Galles de l'époque, futur roi Edward VII. Il est un joli témoin de la période coloniale britannique, construit dans une architecture anglo-indienne, avec un mélange de marbre et de pierre.
L'intérieur est un peu plus intéressant avec une collection extrêmement riche de tableaux, pièces d'orfèvrerie et d'ivoire, de tapis ou encore d'armureries. Il y a même une partie consacrée aux antiquités égyptiennes et aux antiquités perses.
Attention, les photos ne sont autorisées qu'avec les téléphones portables et pas avec les appareils photos et le personnel y veille scrupuleusement.

Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur is housed in a splendid building which is worth a visit for that sake itself. The purpose-built building is a superior example of Indo-Saracenic architecture.
So, a visit to appreciate the building is a must for those visiting Jaipur. Beyond that, there is little to recommend the museum to visitors. The collection on display is of uneven quality, made worse by little effort to curate the collection in any kind of temporal or thematic organisation. The main impression one comes away with is of haphazard display of a mishmash collection of poor quality and fairly recent artefacts, many being mere replicas.
Much can be said of the extremely rude staff that man the museum. They act like petty sovereigns and enforce rules at their whim and fancy. For instance, there is absolutely no mention of cameras being disallowed and no provision for a camera fee, as is the case in many other places. One did look closely and there is no such notice anywhere in the museum premises. The staff however insist that all photography be restricted to mobile phones only and no cameras can be used. No one understands this logic except the staff themselves who happily permit flash photography (which is not permitted by any good museum anywhere) using mobile cameras but no cameras!! And, the staff implementing this rule are downright misbehaved, rude, arrogant and frankly, complete misfit for interacting with the public. Similarly, the staff manning the various rooms seem to think of themselves as school monitors, herding visitors in very high-handed manner. If one decides to read all the text accompanying the displays, one may indeed face the risk of bodily being ejected since the guards and staff cannot countenance that the members of the public have a right to read the text!
So, while a visit the Albert Hall Museum is recommended for the architecture, be wary of being downright insulted and very possibly, shouted at the premises in the process.
The maintenance is also poor and could do with better cleanliness and facilities.

We actually really liked this museum, cheap to get in and quite interesting. It doesn't take a long time maybe 1 hour or 2 if you like to read everything. Really great photo spot.

Il museo è situato nel giardino di Ram Niwas di fronte alla Porta Nuova ed è costruito con marmo e pietra.
Impossibile non notarlo specialmente di sera perchè molto illuminato.

Since there is no option of 4.5 so i am giving 5 stars.

The museum is in a beautiful historical building, the displays are many, varied and well displayed with extensive explanations. Definitely can recommend a visit here for one or two hours. Not too crowded.

The Albert Hall building is worth a visit - or at least a slow drive by if in Jaipur. It is a mix of colonial British and Indian architecture and quite a sight. The museum itself is an ecletic mix of carpet, textiles, pottery, sculpture, paintings and weapons. Many are Indian in origin, but there is also a fair amount of European and Asian. The very finely painted works (using a single hair strand) were the highlight for me. The galleries are relatively small and the whole museum can be done inside 2 hours at most - and you can easily skip areas if you want to.

Inside Albert Hall Museum , Photography is allowed. There are some restrictive zone too . You can see 'Photography not allowed " board where photography is not allowed . Those are very few restrictive zones .

Depends on what is the purpose. I went as a photographer so took around 2 hours to capture in and around the place. You will take less time if you only see. Primarily because all of it is the antique stuff of the maharajah fancy. If you want to see the details then longer

Hi, you can visit it from 10 am to 5 in evening. Depends on your interest to be honest. If you really want to see, explore and take pictures of each and everything then 3-4 hrs or else you can sum it up in an hours time at most.
