One of the picturesque beach in South Goa (1km from Agonda) where people come for River Kayaking (@300/head single kayak or 500/2 people duel kayak). Though the river kayak area is an illusion, it's hardly 100mtrs total length, but it's fun if you are in a group. There are many ways to reach this beach, popular one being the narrow road. Stays here are mostly resort type (Splurge) .
NOTE-
1) Deep water, Rocky beach (swimming not possible)
2) Better Kayak option near Agonda- longer and better route (Go early morning or evening only)

Fabulous secluded beach very clean
There is a bar / restaurant where you can eat and drink
There is also some stalls at the top of the hill before you go to steps which lead to the beach where you can buy drinks snacks and local crafts

You can say that this is the gem of South Goa. It is a peaceful beach with rock patches here and there and a lagoon separated from the sea by a Sand Patch. The lagoon has still water makes it the best for Kayaking. If you’re at this place you cannot miss kayaking. The water is hardly 4/5 Ft deep and hence you don’t even require a life jacket. To reach the beach you have to climb down more than 100 high riser stairs from the parking area. The parking area is after a patch of off-roading kind of tracks from the main road. When you start entering the off-roading track many people on scooties would start tailing you and ask whether you want to do Kayaking, just say no to them and take the kayaks on the spot. This would save atleast Rs 100/Half an hour/Kayak.
Never go on an extended weekend as the poor lagoon would be full of tourists especially from nearby Karnataka and Telangana state. It’s not there’s something bad about the people, but there would be just too many of them, and they would take the peace of kayaking away. No one falls from the Kayaks in water, it is totally safe and it is also a good workout.
There’s a secluded beach (a very beautiful one), separated from the Main Cola beach by a rock patch. Going there is prohibited, but if you’ve confidence and can cross that rocky patch preventing the attention of the life guard, that secluded beach is nothing less than Phuket, bali, maldives, lakshyadeep beaches. You can see that beach from above before climbing down to the main cola beach. There are only a few shacks on the beach but the ambience and the food is good.
There is a drawback that there’s no public toilet on the beach, one of the shacks allows using their washroom on a paid basis. Going back to the parking space is a challenge as you would have to climb the stairs from where you descended, that will certainly take your breath away (like literally). So don’t drink much on the beach, however it may tempt, as you would face trouble climbing back and there’s no other option. Thankfully there are vendors in the parking selling lime and coconut water, which will relax you a bit. Go to the beach in the evening time, as the kayaking and climbing up will totally exhaust you, post you can rest in your hotel after that as you won’t feel like going to any other beach then.

The beach , the best I can describe. It's the postcard pic of paradise you saw as a kid and thought wow!. I hired a scooter for the time I was here and tbh, u really do need transport. The road to the steps is bumpy and dusty but also fun. The steps down to the beach are steep and quite a few. Coming back up was OK but if you have physical setbacks then it may be a bit tough. We walked passed the kayaks and onto a quite quiet beautiful beach. Monkeys milling about in the coconut trees added to what we thought was a simply mesmerising beach. I recommend but you need to investigate the steps down before wasting your time!.

We stayed at this beach for 3 nights and regretted it. It is absolutely not suitable for those who like to swim in the ocean; there are stones all around, on which your legs and everything else can be broken. They are everywhere. There are 2 smaller places, but this is a park of meters back and forth. Scratches from them are also very unpleasant. The beach is remote from everything, there is not a single store here, you just need to take a scooter or taxi. In general, the beach is beautiful and not particularly crowded, suitable for coming, seeing, leaving

This place needs a lot of work. The steps leading down to the shacks are dangerous and there is little sign this is going to change. The steps into the beach are now mended but still precarious. There is no hot water for guests which was disappointing after yoga sessions. Guys mend the stairs, make your guests and staff safe and above all allow your guests the joy of a hot shower.
That said. The staff are so sweet, kind and gentle. The food is so delicious and simple but the drinks are limited. Just water or tea or coffee. No sodas and no beer wine or spirits. I missed cold sodas alcohol I didn’t mind about. Some may.
The yoga platform was gorgeous as was Fenella Lindsell’s classes @yoga forever. The mats, bricks and bolsters were okish perhaps take your own.
The sea is like swimming in salty warm chocolate and it was so lovely to be next to and under the palm trees with the crows and nature in general. Bugs were present but manageable.
Yoga with the owner Pardeishi was amazing and authentic.
Massage with Ram was the most amazing experience. Ram cares and wants you to have the best Ayurvedic experience with beautiful healing oils he goes in deep working hard to heal your muscles and joints.
This is a great authentic wonderful place to stay with fee people to share the beach with however work needs to be done on the stairs leading down the hill and steps leading to the beach and to making sure guests have hot water.
But food, service, yoga, beach and massage are first class. With those small tweaks this place could be the paradise we all are searching for.

Not recommend if you are going with small kids as you have to take steps to reach beach and those steps are not smooth.
You can not go inside beach to enjoy, only enjoy its beauty and take pics. If you are a beach smimmer then go inside the beach.
There is a small lagoon where you can swim and do kayaking. We paid 500/- for a kayaking for 50mins.

Amazing beauty. You have lagoons Boulders and clean sandy beach along with shacks. Must visit place but yes reaching here is a bit tought due to bad roads andit includes quite a bit of stairs to clinb down. Not for aged.

Is Cola beach open.. We are planning to come next week with kids. Driving and coming. Help me how feasible it is for kids to walk. Till how long car goes.

there is quite a walk to get to Cola Beach, it is ok. But you can also take motorcycle or a jeep that can drive you there-which will be much easier and faster.
the private car leaves you 30 minutes walk fro the beach.
Then you can pay for a jeep to drive you there.

In one of the recent review, it is mentioned that we have to park our 4 wheeler up and can take a local jeep to go to cola beach which costs Rs. 100 PP. Can someone please let me know - 1) Where exactly is the parking for four wheelers from where we can hire a local jeep? 2) How far is the cola beach from car parking and is it an easy hike or steep downhill/uphill hike? 3) Can we get jeep from the parking lot early in the morning i.e. somewhere around 8 AM? 4) Are the jeeps readily available while coming back, or we have to fix return timing with jeep driver while going to the beach itself?

1. You can park near SBI ATM near cola gram panchayat office , however it's not paid parking facility
2.apprx 4 km
3. Road was in real bad shape . Not really down hill but it's fulloff stones n red earth. Bad to drive. Experience driver can take own vehicle also but better to hire local vehicle. Vehicle can be available locally need to check with local once u go thr. U may try to walk to beach as many russian seen walking to beach.
4.we did fix our return pickup time wt driver , as network is an issue to call n book for return.

Hi, we went in March and there were two shacks, the one we went to was right near the steps as you come down to the beach. Unfortunately I don't know if they will still be open in May.

i was wondering who you booked your glamping trip with as i am going back to goa next march and i booked a boat trip this year while i was there which was amazing using johns boat tours , im thinking of using them again for coal beach but i cant find any reviews by anyone who has used them.
so im looking at who else does trips to coal so any help would be appreciated

I am staying at Colva beach but want to visit Cola beach with my family for a day trip. Are restaurants available for day visitors? What about changing rooms?

found one public restaurant, it has one toilet , no changing rooms found, and its not crowd beach, you can manage it beach side also
