We loved the Trotts Garden - fabulous display of rhodes, & lovely tall specimen trees. Shame that the cafe was not open - not sure if this because of the virus. The garden was laid out similar to some in the UK - great walk. Would recommend.

We visited this garden on the recommendations of reviews as well as the beautiful photos on their website. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We did travel end of Sept so possibly looks a lot nicer in Spring/Summer...? Most gardens were bare or had dead plants etc. The only nice part was the 4 swirly gardens (as seen in most photos). The area by the tower smelled like cat wee which wasn't pleasant at all and the area around the church/building was cordoned off so couldn't get a nice look. For having 'international acclaim', I didn't think it was much.

We recently attended a wedding here and the venue was wonderful, so well maintained and looked after. A very relaxing and tranquil location. Recommended.

First time visitor and I highly recommend this for families, garden lovers and photographers - a treasure around every corner. Entry is free although a donation is requested - and strongly recommended as they get no council funding and all the work is done by volunteers!
Picnic tables are a bonus.

We have just been to a fabulously stunning wedding, there and the grounds were looking superb. Beautiful setting with the marquee up and the add on room was a great idea by the wedding party.

Very nice garden tucked away on the outskirts of Ashburton. Free but they do request a donation. We visited in January and it was very nice, but in spring you would be able to appreciate the rhododendrons too.

By far the best gardens I’ve visited ever, magical place - these gardens are world class and lovely people who volunteer their time, Nicola was especially cheerful and very helpful! I will be back !

Even if you are not garden mad this is a wonderful space to just wander or picnic, and kid friendly with lots of open grassy areas.
A treat for garden and plants lovers with wide variety of formal and wild with old and new varieties lovingly blended.

We had a wonderful couple of hours, walking around the stunning grounds, admiring the trees, plants, knot gardens and the hours and hours of hard work, dedication and love that goes into this stunning locaction.

Sorry, we were in the midst of changing from a paid to a non paid entry.
Trott's Garden is now free entry. W are run by a Trust so appreciate any donations given.
