The skies that seemed so distant were brought close with their telescopes! While the observatory is in a residential neighbourhood, it is really well done. We learned so much that evening and had a clear night which gave us much to observe. Certainly a treat and well worth our time.

First time I was in observatory. Enjoyed that that’s not a commercial place, but own made. Learned a lot information about stars, galaxies, planets etc. If you’re in Timaru I suggest.

Nous (couple avec un enfant) avons passé une superbe soirée (21h/23h) dans le jardin de ces deux passionnés d'astronomie. Le ciel dégagé et la lune discrète nous ont laissé la possibilité d'observer la lune, mars, la voie lactée bref une myriade d'étoiles et planètes tout en écoutant les explications très accessibles de nos hôtes. Un excellent moment. Donation encouragée ($20 par personne).

this place was terrible nothing there could hardly see anything not very friendly expensive not worth it.

We have a great family time at Kiwi observatory. The staff is great and friendly. We really recommend it.

We had a small group of 5 people and we had the best night - despite the cold ! Beautiful clear night - the warm and friendly hosts have a lot of knowledge about the night sky and blew all our minds with facts upon facts ! The telescopes were really cool ! Thanks so much for a great night :)

It's a lovely (self made) observatory in their backyard.
You'll get to look at Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and heaps of starclusters. It's so interesting to see how many things are up there in the sky. They show you a few movies and self shot photos of stars and planets and explain to you everything about stars, planets and so on!

We loved our hours at the kiwi observatory. enthusiastic hosts and we learnt a lot as well as observing many phenomena in the night sky

Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable couple have this set up in their garden. Spent a very interesting 2 hours being shown how it works and looking at what can be seen.

We were very welcome at the home were the observstory is. We saw so many items and they explain everthing. Also we saw a lot of famous stars (jewel box, saturn and even another Galaxy!). It was an amazing evening. The host are super friendly. Definitely recommend it!
