BOTANICAL GARDEN

Eye-catching botanical garden. Interesting. Lots to see. But the place could have been better kept up. The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.

Beautiful and well kept

This botanical garden is beautifully laid out with plenty of secure parking. Staff are friendly and at the coffee shop you get the best ever cheese cake! Many people take picnics which is a great way to enjoy this wonderful place. We are sure to return on our next visit to Pretoria!

Jardins muito bem cuidados e com áreas para picnic para passar o dia. É possível fazer trilha e conhecer a vegetação nativa de Pretória ou ficar entre os jardins temáticos cultivados. Para aqueles que gostam de observar aves é possível adquirir a lista de aves que podem ser vistas no Jardim. Há um café dentro do parque, um pouco caro porém tranquilo e de comida saborosa.

Needs a little attention

We attended a Succulent Festival and took the opportunity to walk around much of the gardens. It was a cost time visit. Covid-19 notices were visible at the entrance, but no-one checked hands were sanitized and no temperatures were taken. Many visitors ignored mask wearing.
The areas near the entrance were neat and obviously well cared for. Venturing further into the gardens things deteriorated. There was nothing wrong with the wilder natural areas they were add they should be, natural. But the demarcated areas such as the succulent section need upkeep. Signs were damaged or missing and the gardens themselves neglected.
If you keep to the more open areas it is, however, lovely. We even saw dassies.

The gardens were in a terrible state. Bottles lying around in the gardens and weeds growing everywhere! It was a national disgrace!

Harika bir botanik park..her tür den bitki ve çiçekleri görmek mümkün..kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.Orada gördüğünüz tüm bitki örtüsü yurt dışına çıkarılması yasak !!! Yani başka bir ülke de görme şansınız yok😀

Pretoria Botanical Gardens much underestimated

One of the best group function dinners I've ever had was at this restaurant with its view of the gardens and a great buffet. The garden walks are also some of the best walks available in Pretoria. At the price you should make a day of it, don't be hurried.

Restaurant is lovely. Gardens are beautiful but there are not enough benches for the elderly or families to sit on. Not good.

Good variety of African flora. I was particularly impressed with the succulents garden.
There was a garden show or sale on when I went so it was very busy, and the parking was full.
