Although smaller and less impressive as for example Mycenae, it is interesting enough to visit. The cyclopic walls are the highlights. For the rest of the excavation, leave it to your imagination. The artifacts found here can be seen in the archeological museum of Nafplio.

Very under rated site. The staff were very friendly and informative. Part of the site was 5000 years old, but mainly Mycenaean. A lovely site to wander around and absorb the atmosphere.

Nok det mest skuffende stykke UNESCO verdensarv vi endnu har set, og vi har godt nok set en del. Grundlæggende en miniborg med ekstremt tykke vægge og en udsigt over området.
Prisen for adgang er lav og budskabet fra folkene i billetsalget er "scan QR-koden på skiltene". De fører alle til den samme hjemmeside der oplyser om åbningstiderne og giver en meget kort tekst. Bygningen er i to niveauer. Øverst er der et kort over områdets funktioner, men der er ikke meget andet tilbage end de tykke mure.
Opgangen er en rampe, men vil man ned, så er der intet gelænder, og det gjorde det bestemt ikke nemt for vores ældre familiemedlem.
Google Maps var bedre end Apple Maps til at finde stedet. Vejen dertil er dog fint skiltet.

The massive cyclopean walls of this ancient Mycenae palace fortress are worth a visit! It is a short 10 minute drive north of romantic Nafplio.
A gentle pathway leads you up to the top of the Acropolis. But watch your step as there are uneven surfaces. There are a few display panels in English which tell you what you are seeing.
There is no museum on site. Artifacts are in the Archeological Museum in downtown Nafplio.
Clean washroom stalls are available on site. Lots of parking just off the main highway.

Nafplio has three outstanding sites to visit in its vicinity - Mycenae, Epidaurus and Palamidi fortress, and they overwhelm every other.
We were driving from Mycenae to Nafplio when accidentally bumped on Tiryns. The view from outside is just enough - the 3000 y old Cyclopean walls and that's it. After Mycenae it's seems like a waste of time.

Le site se situe sur la route entre Argos et Nauplie ( à 3km au nord de Nauplie).
Attention pour le visiter, le site n'est ouvert que de 8h à 15h30.
Grand parking gratuit sur place. Le site fait partie du pass combiné 6 sites pour 20 € (combiné avec Mycène, fort Palamède, musée archéologique de Nauplie, site d'Asini, site d'Argolida) ou pour 4 € / personne.
Le personnel est sympathique. Un dépliant en anglais est disponible à l'accueil pour avoir des informations succinctes mais suffisantes sur le site.
Site impressionnant par les restes des "murs cyclopéens", appelés ainsi car certaines des pierres pèsent jusqu'à 10 tonnes. Des fouilles et des restaurations sont en cours, ce qui laisse penser que l'avenir du site est prometteur.
Possibilité de faire le tour de la forteresse mycénienne et d'emprunter les passages en pierres nous faisant nous sentir tous petits. Prévoir entre 40 et 45 min pour faire le tour du visite.

Se si è visitata già Micene le mura di tirinto ,seppur meglio conservate, possono essere saltate. oltretutto della cittadella non rimane nulla se non le mura esterne ben visibili anche dalla strada. il prezzo dell'ingresso è €4 .
consiglio di andarci solamente se si ha tempo e se non si è già visitato Micene

La nostra esperienza mediocre è stata probabilmente condizionata dal fatto che abbiamo visitato Tirinto in uno dei giorni più caldi dell'ondata di caldo che ha colpito la Grecia ad Agosto 2021. Portare l'acqua è d'obbligo, e ci sono pochi posti all'ombra. Quindi quella che sarebbe stata una passeggiata gradevole è stata invece una camminata molto pesante. Detto questo per i €4 dell'ingresso visitare le mura ciclopiche é interessante. In definitiva se si ha un'ora libera e si è in zona è una visita carina, ma niente di più..

Cycling from Nafplio to Mycenae, the ruins at Tiryns are difficult to miss; we pulled in, paid the admission and spent about 30 minutes. (We easily could have spent much more time, but our cycling destination for the day was Mycenae.) While the most impressive part of Tiryns may be the wall, which can be viewed for free from the outside, the ruins from the inside are impressive enough to justify the admission and at least an hour of your time.

Het uitzicht is minder omdat het laag ligt maar de muren zijn zeer indrukwekkend en het is toch weer wat groter dan je denkt. Zeker de moeite waard door de restauraties. Ga later nog even naar het museum in Nafplio voor de manquete.
