Single track road leads to this fabulous beach where you could easily spend the day the camp site next to it has a small shop and also a chip shop operating from 5pm to 8pm take the opportunity to climb the surrounding hills for some fantastic views you won't be disappointed.

Bella spiaggia, preferibile il trekking per raggiungerla anziché la strada carrabile. Molto affollata in estate, ma colori incredibili e spiaggia che sembra farina.

Was so excited to arrive here for one night in our MH. ON arrival the young girl was friendly enough and shop looked good. Was told to park anywhere and just take any of the 5 electric hook ups. Not everyone is considerate so have to try and few spaces before we could get the one free hook up that was available. Organised pitches would be better and not a free for all. Had a few dishes from lunch so went to dish wash place and there was no hot water with the hot water tap virtually hanging off. Big signs saying "do not do dishes in the sink" in the ladies and gents as that was the only place with hot water. Avoided the shower area as it needed a good clean. No signal and no wifi so a quite night. In the morning headed again to try and do the dishes and by 9am again still not hot water for dishes. Went to reception and was told by older lady that it usually runs out about now. At 9am!! How odd. We swiftly packed and left and will not return. Beach was ok - seen nicer around NC500. Out of all the campsites we chose this was a 1 star for facilities and welcome. ps was busy enough with people who obviously dont need hot water for their dishes.

Place is really beautiful recommend but people with dogs should not to be allowed to enter sh..t everywhere no muzzle and lead. Barking on kids and other people I wish to relax but I didn't

A must-visit, not far from Lochinver, perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches along the nc500. Do climb atop the dune at the end of the beach for the iconic view you see in the photo.

Stunning views, worth driving down the single track road.
Beach was clean and there is a toilet.
Limited parking though so may struggle during peak times.

Stunning!! Woweeeeee we had the best morning on this beach. We paddle boarded in the crystal clear water, the sand is whiter than white, it’s such a beauty you won’t want to leave. Definitely spend a bit of time here it’s worth it.

There are so many beautiful beaches in Scotland but some of them stood out - this is one of them. The sand is white, the sea is an amazing shade of blue, the rocks are interesting. We had a great time here, the children loved discovering the beach! Worth the stop if you are in the area.

Such a stunning beautiful beach, white sand and azure sea, the beach is unspoilt but it’s a shame about all the caravans near by.

The sand is so white! The car park is terrible though as it is covered in massive pot holes which are full of water.

There were a few dogs on and behind the beach during our visit but there were "no dogs" signs, which I assumed related to the caravan and camping sites only. Dogs would have a blast here.
Looking to go here in July 2018 as part of the NC500. The plan is to take our two dogs too, however I noticed the last post regarding whither this was possible this was last year. Has anything changed? Am I right in thinking if they are under control it will be fine?

When does the dog ban come into force at Achmelvich. They annoyingly keep quoting 'during the peak Summer holiday period' - when is that exactly?

I always use the beach guide online to check where we can take our Labrador. We took him on the beach at Achmelvich in March (and it is just stunningly beautiful) but he was not allowed on the land belonging to the Caravan park then. However having just checked I see there is a total ban on dogs there now - the only beach where a total dog ban is in force in the area. Very sad for doggies but there are plenty of other dog friendly beaches in that area to enjoy.

yes it is a small area between a small kirk and a private farm
Hi I am looking for a static caravan site that allows dogs does anyone know of any that are near the beaches preferably?

I've been saying that about these bloody jet ski ski-ers for 10 years. I shouted at one once !!! If you want a thrill ride go to Blackpool for your holidays!!!
