Bring the price down. I'm sorry, but the value of what you get vs what you pay just isn't there. I completely understand that people with small children would want and enjoy this type of activity, but the cost is just not on par with the experience. I have paid hundreds of dollars for train rides elsewhere and felt it was money well spent.
We are senior citizens, and I realize, we are possibly a little jaded, but I still feel my assessment is accurate. It is a twenty-minute, slow ride on a train, a twenty-minute stop in the woods you could easily obtain by a free hike in the area, and a twenty-minute slow ride back to the station. Oh, and overpriced snacks.

Great ride through the woods and guides were fantastic! Highly recommend. No worries if you don't want to pedal alot.

We went to the Glen Blair Bar, the setting is so beautiful and the games, fire pits, lights, bar and music created a fun atmosphere. There’s also a little walking trail by the redwoods for some exploring and fun pictures. We will bring back the whole family for some fun!

Very enjoyable and relaxing. We saw the redwoods and the old tunnel and the rail bikes looked like fun. Very cool weather, the ticket agent and the conductor were very courteous.

Johnny and Cierra really made this attraction enjoyable and fun. It is a 3.5 mile trip through Pudding Creek and on the rail. Along the way up we stopped twice as both Johnny and Cierra shared fun facts about the rail line, the history of the train line, and Fort Bragg history. At the end of the one way trip, we hop off and take a 30-40 min break to sightsee and hang out by the pavilion. The pavilion has fun large size board games, corn hole and benches. There are restrooms as well. Water bottles and caramel popcorn were provided as part of the ride. My wife and I also opted for the lunch with included a reusable Skunk Train insulated lunch bag, water, sandwich of your choice, chips of your choice and a second beverage (beer, wine, or juice).The rail bikes are definitely a workout but very fun to do.

We went 5/13/23 on the Free Mothers Day ride..Sitting out in the open air car listening to the si
nging conductor..He was awesome..he played the guitar & harmonica & sang fun songs..he got the riders involved & even a dog joined in the singing..the weather was perfect..I recommend if u want a great family experience..ride the Skunk.

Riding the railbikes was a unique, fun and hilarious adventure! The guides were both engaging and checked in with each guest throughout the experience. The conductor even traded out our rail Ike for his when we struggled with our seats. It was definitely the highlight of Fort Bragg and one of the best experiences during a two week Northern California trip.

Staff was very attentive. Great views from the train. We enjoyed the train musician. Overall great experience.

The Railbikes along Pudding Creek was something we’ve wanted to do for awhile now and this trip we managed to get on board. We chose the morning ride and cruising along the creek and through the trees at a blistering 8mph is such a great experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience including the silly puns from our lead guide John. If you have a couple of hours to spare in Ft. Bragg, make a reservation and hop on. It’s well worth it!

Enjoyed being on a steam train in the redwoods.
Would have liked more time to eat & hike. Not sure it was worth the money. Felt very rushed. Kids liked the snack stand and the gift shop was good, well stocked reasonable prices.

Anybody have any reviews regarding the VIP experience for train rides? Regular price is $54 vs VIP $94.... Is the VIP option worth if for the skunk train???

Only two riders per bike and one person can probably handle the peddling. Even though has battery assist, you still have to peddle.

I see there is a weight limit of 250lbs per rider. Do they weigh you? Are they strict?

Nope, did not see anyone being weighed. But if you have any concerns, might make sense to contact the Skunk Train office ahead of time.

Which is the better ride from Willits or Fort Bragg. Is there a bathroom and do we have to bring a lunch and refreshments or are they provided

The trip from Fort Bragg is shorter due to issues with a tunnel cave in. There are refreshments available for purchase. Bathroom is on the train from Fort Bragg. You can bring your lunch with you though.

How is parking here? Is it pretty safe? We are traveling during the holidays w some items in the car and a bit worried.

The parking lot in Fort Bragg is next to the train station. It is convenient and we didn’t see any out of the ordinary issues that would cause problems.

Thanks I have riden the train many times over the past 25 years now its time to take the grandkids.
The website has zero trips spring time for the train other than Easter.

😹 Yes, lots of opportunity for foliage as many trees are deciduous.. Hitting great color is luck of the draw. I would call the Ft. Bragg visitors center for current info.
