This depot in downtown Kingsburg is a snapshot in time of a 1920’s train station. It has been magnificently renovated to reflect on the history of this station on the Southern Pacific. The depot was constructed by the Southern Pacific in 1875 and replaced in 1902 after a fire. The depot was utilized in passenger service until 1962 and in freight service until 1971 It was transferred to the city of Kingsburg in 2005 from the Union Pacific Railroad.
There are outdoor displays and signage on the portico end and on the freight dock end including an old farm tractor.
The office is open on Wednesday only from 0900 – 1200 and the depot is open by reservation only.
