We came here for the finale of Rupauls Drag Race. What a gorgeous historic place. I was a bit surprised they closed the bars within an hour - my only complaint.

Entering this Theater was Magical and Eye Opening. This 1920's Masterpiece is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. My Photo will not do it justice. The show went from 8-10:300 with one intermission and was filled with great singers and musicians and even a high spirited fun Tap Dancer. The Emcee and beautiful great singer-entertainer was Ariana Savalas with the POSTMODERN JUKEBOX band.
My next comment is a CAUTION - The upper levels are steep with very little handrails, so be very careful. It is right next door to the Ace Hotel and the great rooftop Bar with great views of the city at night. Valet Parking is $50, but self parking right next to the Hotel and Theater is $25.

My experience at the Ace started horribly from the moment I pulled up. There is no signage upon pulling up to the hotel, no valet or loading area and if you’ve ever been to downtown Los Angeles it is full of homeless people and zero parking. When I went into the hotel the girl behind the counter was on her phone and did not greet me. I asked about valet she rolled her eyes and said we don’t have it but parking is three blocks away. when I arrived in my room the bathroom had not been cleaned properly or restocked and it had a slight smell to it. When I called down to be moved to a new room she said it was full so I looked online and saw that there were rooms available. I knew then this is going to be a horrible experience. The next day I was told one of the restaurants is closed and the pool was closed but I still had to pay the resort fee (no Hospitality at this place). I’m not a child who picked the cheapest room on a Saturday to party I pay real money for a real experience and ended up with worse than a Motel-6 experience. I take that back Motel-6 is way better of an experience than the downtown LA Ace Hotel. When I tried to speak to the manager they did not return my call. I normally love the Ace Hotel properties and have a great time but after this experience, I will never stay at an Ace Hotel and make sure to never book any of my clients there ever again. Such a shame another good hotel bites the dust.

Just go to this venue to see the theater. We went for a movie discussion. I was not prepared for how gorgeous the inside of this theater is. I have never really seen anything like it. It was the first theater built for the United Artist movie company. I was so excited to see an old movie palace in such great condition. No matter what the event is you are going to at this theater, just go and enjoy the wonderful theater itself, it's a real treat.

Hahahah. Can't forget how my little sweet pumpkins loved this evening and wished it never ended. Funny right? But that's just the feeling you get when something is soooo amazing

I just saw Josh Ritter there - the worst security attitudes and I"ve worked for Private Investigators. No need to be rude when this theatre is better made for screenings and in the Golden Age was for award ceremonies.
As a music venue? The worst lighting, air conditioner in back was so cold the usher complained over and over - froze the entire evening. Overpriced and not worth it for any act. Ritter is a good songwriter but he's a Bob Dylan knock-off and it would've been nice to be able to actually see him in other than purple, orange, blue and green lighting which made his projectionist's job even worse with what he had to show - the lights worked against the images making it look amateurish.Go to the Bowl, The Mint, Greek but don't bother at the Ace. They're trying to be hip when it's a square peg.

An opportunity to visit this cathedral and enjoy the voice of Caetano Veloso was a moment my wife and I cherish . We had the chance years ago to see Caetano in L.A. at another venue and missed out . It was apparently meant to be at this beautiful vintage almost gothic cathedral. Caetano was of course amazing but this theater made the evening timeless. The Theatre at Ace Hotel is worth a visit even if no one's on the stage .

This is a great old theatre. They have many varied types of performances held here!
We saw Craig Ferguson, he was great! I could hardly catch my breath from laughing so hard! We like his style of comedy.

Worth a visit to this theatre built in the late 1920's.
We saw Billy Idol and the theatre added to our great experience.
We would love to return and possibly have a tour and learn a bit more of the history.

Yes, valet available right at the front door. There is also a public parking structure also right across the street.
