I learned so much about animals and farm life in the late 19th century in Colorado! I could have stayed all day and I am 70. No wonder every child we passed was smiling ear to ear! Especially great is the blacksmith named Chuck. He was like a magician with the kids and they ate it up! Then chatting I find out he is a well-known OB who has delivered 7K+ babies. Np wonder he is so great with the littles. He knew more than anyone else on site about the land and the eras. The animals were so patient and lovely = no touching but plenty of love nonetheless. Why do people got to theme parks etc? Just go to this great outdoor museum! So clean and well-maintained. We def will be back!

Truly amazing place! The museum has so many things to see..art, historical history of Littleton, 1860’s farm, 1890s farm, super Old schoolhouse, etc. There are volunteers willing to help you learn all about the history, even blacksmiths, how life was like over 130 years ago. It’s so well done that it’s a Smithsonian museum too! I have included pics from the recent temporary exhibit about the life cycle of clothes.

What a wonderful experience this little museum is! And the curators knowledge and interest makes all the exhibits come to life. From the tales of the different wars, to the model house and stories of the family living by the railway, to the photos and stories about the Hollywood legend Bette Davis, it was all so interesting and well worth a visit.
The curators passion for this museum is obvious and hopefully it will continue to offer an insight into the local history

Educational, enjoyable, and free. The museum building was full of interesting information about Littleton. The exterior displays were interesting and the blacksmith shop was wonderful. The animals were fun to see, and offered educational opportunities for me to share with my little girl. We really enjoyed it. The gazebo by the lake was also very nice

I used to love the Littleton Museum. It’s free and it was a wonderful place to take my son. But they have removed everything enjoyable about it. The steps they’ve taken due to COVID are illogical. They’ve closed every single outbuilding including all windows so you can’t even see inside. A rope across the door to keep people out would’ve sufficed. Or even keeping traffic one way. They’ve also added ropes to keep you away from the animals. I understand some people try to pet them, but they keep you so far away that the little children can’t see. Also, you have to wear a mask the whole time outside. There was literally no one else there when we went and we were outdoors. There was no reason to wear masks. And then we got pestered to donate. A very sad and unenjoyable experience now. Hopefully, they realize the silliness and make some very basic, easy changes to make it worth going again.

Local history, beautiful farm, cute animals, love this place. There are several areas that depict what life was like in the past(1800's/early 1900's) on a farm including demos on how to make butter, blacksmithng, and everyday farm life. Live animals roam around outside and love to see visitors.

I never knew this was here, but what a gem! The 19th century farm trails were a delight for our visit with a 1 year old. The displays inside were surprisingly engaging for a municipal museum and the staff were great. We spent more than two hours here with some friends and I will recommended the trip to everyone I know.

In addition to the animals they also have re-enactors that can tell you about the olden days. Make sure to also go inside for a conventional museum experience.

The Littleton Museum is a delight! I have taken my grandchildren there on several occasions, and they always love it! Fun to see the animals and experience glimpses of what life was like "way back when".

Very relaxing walking tour outside to view a lot of farm animals and rural buildings. People on the grounds were very informative. The inside exhibits were well done. Did not allow enough time to take it all in. Ladies at the front desk were very informative not only about the museum but about downtown Littleton. Well worth the stop.

No, animals are not allowed. They have livestock there and other birds (chickens/peacocks).

If the weather is nice and not too hot, at least two hours. There is a blacksmith, pigs, chickens, old school house. If it is raining or super hot there are still things to do inside.
