Unusual church but in a lovely setting next to the hall, amazing ceilings and history. Visited whilst at the hall. Beautiful.

This is a wonderful place-a fascinating hall, beautiful building and garden, a lovely lake etc. The summer concert programme has continued but in the large field with a stage rather than in the usual stands. The concerts were all welk spaced outside as a result. Take your own chairs, blankets and picnic! The Richards family are wonderful and host so.much themselves, all done with a smile. Thank you for welcoming people to your beautiful hall!

Outdoor Jersey Boys Concert on Saturday night was fantastic. It was so easy to park. Few minutes walk to grounds and the beautiful home buildings of Gawsworth Hall. Stunning scenery. Everyone friendly staff superb. So welcoming. Everyone brings own food and drinks picnics. No queues for toilets. They have their own bar sales set up and cafe. Great first outdoor event since first lockdown and it was fantastic . Great organisation of the event too. Well done.

This appears to be a beautifully renovated hall. we did not go inside. The lake and gardens themselves are very beautiful. it is used to stage various weddings and concerts.

This is the most enchanting surrounding with lovely grounds and a super house. In the summer, they erect a grandstand and do a whole series of concerts and plays with a really intimate atmosphere. They're super and a reasonable price and have the advantage that you are allowed to access the grounds for a picnic etc from lunchtime onwards. A highly recommended programme of events.

I had no idea this was here, until my father suggested it as a day out.
The one and only bad point was the man who was directing the entrance to the car park, who looked like he was totally disgusted with having to do this job and had a face like thunder.
However, the volunteers at the house were very welcoming and friendly with possibly the exception of the lady upstairs. We asked her how long she had been a volunteer at the house, to which she very curtly replied, " I AM NOT A VOLUNTEER, I AM A MEMBER OF STAFF"! Nice.
The house itself is still privately owned, but the decor is very nice, my favourite was the library. The gardens could do with a bit of a tidy up, but generally not bad. Unfortunately, due to a funeral, the tea room was not open that day, so I can't comment on that.
Definitely worth a visit though.

Crikey! Many thanks for the rating, and apologies re the tea room - it was shut as all the family were attending the funeral of our Rector Bishop William's wife, which took place at St James The Great Church next door to the Hall. The chap in the car park entrance/road was from Andrew Smith Funeral Services, and not one of ours. So sorry he was not more welcoming.

A very different experience from visiting somewhere which is NT owned or similar. The lady of the house mans the tills and takes the fees - and is happy to talk to you about what is there. Her son served us our cups of tea (and gave us a jug of hot water with it - miracle! Every time I go somewhere with my parents they are always looking for extra hot water with their tea).
The house is lived in and this contributes to an atmosphere you can feel when you look around.
I live in the area and enjoyed this piece of local history.
The volunteers are very helpful and friendly, and helped my Dad who has reduced mobility - thanks

Dear Judith, many thanks for booking tickets to the Greatest Showman. This event is held at Gawsworth Hall, but organised and hosted by Adventure Cinema. The house is not open that day, with the gates and grounds opening for the event from 6pm. Best wishes, Jonathan

Strawberry woods at Lower Withington or wagon & Horses pub CW12 2JD. Castle Camping at Mow Cop is a little further but the views are fabulous. There's Dane caravan park but that may just be statics for hire.

Hello, what time do concerts generally end at Gawsworth Hall? Is it possible to catch the 21:49 train after a concert that starts at 19:30? Thank you
Jonny R
Macclesfield, UK8 đóng góp
Dear LyonsGate, I think you'd need to leave a little before the end to catch this train. We run a first half of 45 minutes to one hour - depending on act. Then an interval 15-20mins. Then second half, 45 minutes to one hour. Some nights do finish around 21.40, but most 21.50 to 22.00. Regards, Jonathan
