Woodys is usually crowded. We go to Woodys about once a month year round. The food is excellent, waitstaff pleasant and efficient. Always a pleasant meal. Fun neighborhood bar/restaurant. I am a crabcake addict. Woodys has one of the best crabcakes in the Mid Atlantic region. BAM

Outstanding! Everything was delicious! Best crab cakes around. The vegetables and tater tots were excellent too! Best grapefruit crush around!

This is a favorite of many. Always busy but worth it. The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. Clean restrooms.

We love the atmosphere at Woody’s: Great food, always a game on TV and excellent service. We go there at least twice a month in the offseason, when parking spots are easy to find.
We went with our neighbors, who ordered a cup of cream of crab soup, a crabcake and a French Dip sandwich.
I ordered my favorite appetizer, which is a mix of Maryland and cream of crab soup. It was delicious as usual.
My wife loves their soft shell crabs, and Woody’s is one of the few places we have been able to get soft shell crabs all winter long.
I had the bbq salmon with asparagus and tater tots (hey, I think they are a little bit healthier than fries).
We loved our meals as expected and the service was spot on. We highly recommend Woody's.

Many people over the years have told us about how good Woodys crab cakes are, and we finally got there on a rainy Friday afternoon in March, 2020 for a late lunch. We were seated on the porch, which had plastic covered windows and a heating unit on the ceiling blowing warm air all over. Typical beach restaurant/bar type of atmosphere, but clean and welcoming after coming in from the nasty weather.
We looked at the extensive menu, and many things were tempting, however, we were there for the crab cakes. These crab cakes were all jumbo lump and had very little binder to hold them together. We would definitely go back again for them in the off season. The crab meat didn’t have quite the Chesapeake Bay blue crab flavor, and could have used a touch of old bay seasoning, but was still delicious. The house made potato chips were fabulous too. Our friend got the blackened shrimp BLT, and was very happy with her meal too.
We plan to return soon, before the roads get too clogged with visitors and Maryland crabs are back in season to see if we can see a difference.

First time dining at Woody’s due to the great reviews. We arrived on Saturday night about 5:00, the day after Valentines Day. Also President Day weekend. Understandably they were swamped and not prepared. My wife and I were promptly seated and we were still waiting for 2 more in the party. Within 5 min server impatiently wanted to know how soon the others would arrive. I hate being rushed and was ready to leave, but my wife wanted to stay. I would normally have nothing positive to say about our server, but she was overwhelmed. By the time the meal came, things had settled down. Our meals were fair, the one Vegan in the group couldn’t eat her wrap which was lousy. As for the crab cakes, also just fair. Anyone who said these are the best they have ever had have never been to Crab Cake Factory, Our Harvest, Liquid Assets, Shark on the Harbor or about 10 other restaurants I’ve been to. Not terrible, but too many choices, won’t be back.

We ate here our first night in town. The mussels we had as an appetizer were very good. My husband enjoyed the wings and fries. I had the shrimp, and a side Cesar salad drenched in dressing. (Should have ordered dressing on the side)

Ok so if you love crab cakes and you grew up anywhere near the Chesapeake Bay you have to go to Woody’s in Dewey Beach DE
There is absolutely no detectable filler in the jumbo lump crab cakes. But in the interest of full disclosure, crabcakes anywhere else will be a huge disappointment.
The waitstaff is friendly and efficient and the bar has a great selection of beer and cocktails. Just so you know, Woody’s is a favorite with Dewey’s locals so you know it has to be good. Believe me you don’t want to miss this place.
