Arrived around 8am and were the only ones there. Stayed for about 1 hour, and walked through the shallows. 'Had a genuine, unexpected cleansing experience in the tradition of getting rid of old thought patterns that hold us back.
Minimal charge to park the bikes...I think 2 000k.

This waterfall was not nearly so touristy as others
Quite steep steps and path down to the river and to the falls.
Make sure you have good shoes and be prepared to get wet.
Spiritual , magical, amazing !!!
If you only visit one in Bali make it this one you will not be disappointed

We arrived at the car park at 12:15 and started down the many steps. near the bottom there are two make-shift changing rooms, which we used to change into our swimming cossies, and put on water shoes. we went down the last few steps then waded through the river to the waterfall. Everyone else didn't seem to be aware that they would have to go wading - one lady was in jeans! there were lots of flip flop wearers too - not the most sensible choice when wet underfoot - our guide had to help one lady who was slipping. we didn't have to wait long to get our turn in the waterfall - and since we were in our swim suits we could actually stand under the water which was a great experience. while waiting we watched the instagram photos being taken - always amusing to watch.
we got changed back into clothes, tackled the steps back up and ate lunch in the gorilla restaurant at the top.

We visited this waterfall as part of a day trip tour. Unfortunately our guide did not give us a heads up that part of the trek woud involve getting our feet wet whilst walking pass streams and through caves. We initially hiked in our sport shoes and had to remove this to finish the latter half of the trek. It was rather painful to walk on ragged stone and sand which did slightly affect our experience. However the waterfall was spectacular and the walk was worth it in the end. We would recommend again hiking in sport shoes as there is a lot of stairs to go up and down but then to bring a spare pair of flip flops to change into.

Now I know, why water is holy in Bali. When you are under waterfall you feel strength of the nature. It’s very unique experience, very refreshing and spiritual.

This was one of my favorite places we visited on our tour of Bali. We arrived mid morning, missing some of the early photo seekers so there was maybe 5 other small groups in the ravine while we were walking around. There was more to see than I expected. People queue for photos and it was really chill. There are 3-4 really neat photo spots and honestly it is just gorgeous and peaceful to be in that space. I could have hung out down there the entire day. You WILL get wet and need to wade to see the waterfall so wear a swim suit or shorts.
As others have said the stairs are steep but well maintained. Wear shoes you can climb and get wet in. If you are not used to walking you will need to take a break on the way back up, but there are small stands and a cafe if you wanted a snack. Small entrance fee.
* I would recommend hiring a driver/guide for touring around Bali. Much easier than finding taxis at every stop and they can take you to multiple locations in a day. Many of the guides have mad photo skills and we have some excellent photos that our guide Gieok took for us. (We are not instagram age so this was really helpful.) They know the best spots for snacks, photos and share much about their culture and history along the way. Worth it!

Eigentlich gibt es in der Schlucht gleich zwei Wasserfälle zu sehen. Der Abstieg ist eher steil und die Treppenstufen hoch. So muss man doch ein wenig vorsichtiger sein.
In der Schlucht unten muss man durchs Wasser gehen, weshalb sich hier FlipFlops anbieten. Vom Treppenende rechts ist der kleinere Wasserfall. Links dann der Hauptwasserfall, welcher das Ziel der meisten TouristInnen ist. So werden hier viele Fotos und Videos für die Sozialen Medien produziert. :)

Très belle cascade avec deux chutes d’eau , une importante à gauche et une autre plus petite à droite.
Entrée payante à 20.000 IDR / personne.
J’étais là bas vers 10h du matin et c’était pratiquement vide.
Il faut marcher depuis le parking et monter plusieurs marches avant d’arriver aux chutes d’eau. Prévoir des sandales où tongs pour marcher dans l’eau.
Il y a un grand rocher sur lequel vous pouvez montez et prendre une belle photo.
Aucune queue pour prendre les photos avec la cascade, j’ai même pu faire une vidéo. Très belle lumière le matin pour les photos.
Un endroit paisible à faire si vous êtes à Ubud ou à côté .

Très belle cascade, assez loin en scooter d’Ubud (pleins de rizières sur la route très beau paysage) quasiment 1h30 de scooter. La cascade est payante, et très fréquenté nous sommes arrivés vers 10h, et quand nous sommes partis vers 12h des bus de touristes arrivaient. Impossible de se baigner car l’eau arrive aux mollets, belle balade, et de belles photos à faire. Une queue de touriste venu avec des taxis et les chauffeurs qui les prennent en photos.

Hi! I am not in the best physical fitness shape and was wondering how many stairs there are to the waterfall? Is it quite hard to climb back out?

With knee problems I managed to get down to the cafe area and the rest of the family descended further to the waterfalls and pools. But even though they are very fit, they were exhausted when they returned back up.

Hi, can we get to this waterfall with a 5 month old on my husband in a baby carrier? Please let us know.. the place looks magical but I am not sure if the hike is possible with baby. Thanks!

Yes it is possible, the stairs are steep sometimes, but if you are able to do it by yourself, then it should not be a problem to do it with a 5 month old in a baby carrier.

Hello, I was thinking to go first thing in the morning to beat the crowd# but some lighting is fine, or go late in the afternoon around 4pm

Hi there. My partner and I will be in bali in 2 weeks and we're interested in going to this waterfall. We are not interested in packages that includes other places to visit, we only want to visit this very waterfall only. How do we go about this ?

It is not a difficult drive to get there, comparatively speaking (Nusa Penida is another story) but you can also contact any of the tours and simply tell them you only want that part of the package. That's what I did. It wasn't a big deal and Bali is one of those places that it might be prudent to have a local driver when possible.

No guide require. Prefer wearing comfortable footwear. It will take 15 minutes to reach there.

Its a remote area... you will find local people staying there...i dont think there will be any villa near by
