people said there is no exact address location of it, and the GPS may not be able to find it, it only has the co-ordination code N 39° 04.876 W 084° 50.918. After we park the car on the unpaved road, you still need to walk for a while, for the unpaved road filled with tiny rocks, a few minutes later, you can walk to see the river, but the ship ruins is inside the forest, anyway, just a few minutes walk, you can see it, the water looks still and dirty, the ship is rusting with plants on it. When we walk to the ship ruins, we pass through an area seems some homeless people live, they have a camp tent there, and someone told me it's a private place, I am not sure, but anyway, we went there and take a look to the ship.

I am so, so glad we did this! I had seen a couple articles about it and since we were going to Rabit Hash I mentioned to my granddaughter we should try to find it- my daughter was driving so we had to convince her but glad we found it! It’s definitely off the beaten path. We actually had to put coordinates in the gps to find it but we did it.

This 186 feet, steam powered ship first launched in 1902 and is practically sitting in my back yard! Left to rust in a small creek since 1987 I had to go see it after reading about it's fascinating history! My husband and I had recently purchased kayaks and this was the perfect opportunity to try them out. We put in at Tanner's Creek near Lawrenceburg IN and paddled across the Ohio river then upstream to find the creek this wreck sits in. It was easy to find and well worth the paddle. We saw several people on the shore that had walked to view it from Lawrenceburg Ferry Rd. We did not board the boat because it was very rusty with many holes and it did not look safe. I would have loved to walk around it when it was safe to do so. It was still very interesting to paddle around it (I was able to circumvent the boat) and imagine the places and people in it's history.
The ship rests not far from the mouth of the creek and the creek nearly disappears not far beyond it. If on the KY side of the Ohio river, there is a park in Petersburg KY with a boat ramp that would make it a short paddle upstream to the creek. We put in on the IN side and thoroughly enjoyed the paddle to the ship wreck, it was part of the adventure. We were gone about 4 hours, stopping for a lunch break, taking our time at the ship and a relaxing paddle back to the ramp.
