Hi, We were staying in Hoi An and set off from there to do the Hai Van Pass. We left late morning and got back early evening, probably around 8 hours. We went via Marble Mountain so maybe an hour or two there. From there through Da Nang and over the Dragon Bridge toward the Pass. We drove over the Pass stopping a couple of times for photo opportunities. On the far side, stopped at a little roadside cafe for a bite to eat and a cool drink. Pretty much the same on the way back to Hoi An. Round trip is easily done in 6 hours with some stops and without having to push it.

If you are staying in Hoi An you find plenty of tour companies that can satisfy your needs. You can look on Trip Advisor and /or Danang / Hoi An Expats facebook page.

Yes there are bathroom facilities, but make sure you have your own paper (tissues are fine) and hand sanitiser. If you've travelled through Asia before you'll know this is a fairly standard requirement.

You can book through VM Travels and you don’t even have to pay in advance. Yes it is recommended to take the car either from Hue to Hoi An or vice versa. You can mail your date of travel with pickup time via their website. I booked it and had a good experience. They charged me 59$ for a private car. The driver was English speaking and we stopped at A beach and marble mountain in between.

As I know there are no rentable cars in Vietnam. tried to get one from Germany, no chance
