Not open despite saying the hours on their website. To be honest it did not look like we missed anything. Probably need to call to make sure it’s open.

Just to see how the town was like and where it all began, very interesting, cool history, we where coming from Yosemite and stopped in this little town in the middle of Nevada on the way to Vegas, what a cool surprise, lots old mines and nice people

Dissapointed arrived 11am sign outside said opening times 10 to 3 but doors locked. Tried knocking but no reply. Went off and visited another site returned 1.30 still locked up. No message or reason why. This museum was one of the main reasons we stopped overnight In Beatty.

Beatty Nevada is located at the junction of Highways 95 and 374 about 2 hours northeast of Las Vegas. The drive there can be made either by going north out of Vegas on highway 95 or if you are in South Las Vegas taking Highway 160 through Pahrump to the junction with Highway 95. While there are a few sites to see along the way most of the drive is through some pretty flat land. Once in Beatty there are many things to see and shops to visit. Everything from the Jerky stand to Death Valley Nut & candies. The museum and many art shops fill this small town. So take a little time to explore before either heading on 374 into death Valley we’re continuing north on 95 towards Reno. You won’t be disappointed

We were amazed on how cool this museum is. There are a lot of things that would interest anyone into antiques and history. Really nice staff. I would definitely recommend going here. It’s free and a suggested donation if you would like.

Nice but small museum outlining the history of the area. Free to enter and self tour. Had a 2 year old that was with the museum attendant follow us around and was quite entertaining. Worth the time to take a look.

We planned a stop at the Rhyolite museum as our first itinerary item in town. However, while the web was giving us indications that the museum was open, and we arrived a bit past the published opening time of 10am on a Monday morning, we were disappointed to have arrived to a facility with closed doors. If planning a visit, we would suggest a call in advance to be sure they will be open during your intended visiting day and time.
We suspect we would have much enjoyed the information inside, so don't want to ding with a lower rating, but feel it is important for travelers to understand access to the facility which appears to be other than what is published during this Covid time.

There is a lot of history crammed into a small museum. The staff is friendly and ready and willing to answer any and all of your questions
The coolest thing was a jacket of Charlie Utters, a good friend of Wild Bill.
They also have rotating exhibit in the back.
Admission is free

we stayed in the motel just opposite to this museum, so we go there to take a look, however, it's already closed, but we still take some pictures of the outdoor exhibits. Hope that next time when we visited there, can have chance to go inside to take a look for the museum.

This small but well maintained museum reflecting the history of the mining era and Beatty itself. There is a good array of books, photo's and other artifacts that makes it worth a visit.
