A smallish zoo but if you visit Atlantic City with kids, as many often do, you can spend a few hours here. Apparently they are preparing a few new or updated exhibits so some of it was closed. A very good variety of animals. The walk along the paved path of the forest to see the giraffe was beautiful at this time of year. The Zipline was closed, but that worked for me.

It's been years since we were last here and a GREAT little zoo is even better. The animals looked happy, the place was clean and bright and the layout was interesting, with different animals around each curve. My 7 year old liked the big cats and the bears okay, but she liked the free-range guinea fowl that wandered up close, the best. Strange kid. Oh, and she started hopping instead of walking after watching the kangaroos. We grownups especially liked the giraffes and zebras on the large field (like the Serengetti?) which you can view from a high walkway.
There are lots of lovely shady trees for when the sun is intense. The food prices aren't bad. The employees are lovely. And the cost is: Whatever you feel appropriate. Yes, free, donation only. Same with parking - donation only. Highly, highly recommend.

Giraffe encounter was amazing!!! High recommended to go and pay for it!! (Make a appointment before you go on the website)
Really worth money!!! The zoo is huge , everything is nice and clean. Animal are super friendly, you can feed some of them :)

Great layout and habitats. You can tell the staff is happy with their jobs. Most animals easily visible - the bison were being shy the day we were there. Clean facilities. Lots of parking and picnic space. We paid extra for the giraffe feeding and had a lovely 20min with Bo, and Trey they employee with us. Only complaint was the insane amount of strollers and wagons everywhere! Clogged up some walking paths and viewing areas. They need to consider some areas where kids have to walk or get carried.

I really enjoy visiting the Cape May Zoo when I visit Wildwood in the summer months and the animals are outside enjoying the weather.
The giraffe exhibition is the most interesting because they have plenty of room to move around. In most zoos they have tight quarters which is not fair to the animals. The exhibitions either zebras and water buffalos are the same and it is interesting how they move around and eat and socialize. You can see the human aspect about them.
The barn yard animals like the pigs and cows just go about their business and eat and relax and socialize. They know you are there and just live.
It is a nice way to spend the afternoon and walk around and relax.

Lovely visit to the Cape May Zoo.
Free admission (no tickets or reservations required) to the zoo but donations are accepted.
Great zoo, especially given the free admission. Lots of animals and exhibits to see. The reptile house was particularly interesting.
There was a crowd on a Friday afternoon but it wasn't overcrowded...more than enough space to view the animals and exhibits an maneuver strollers, if needed.
There is a zoo cafe which has some reasonably-priced food options ($8 burger/personal pizza). There are a few gift shops as well.
There is a large and free parking lot the zoo shares with the surrounding park. The park also contains tree top/zipline activities...so be sure to plan this into your day if you want.

A great visit. It’s free- donation only. Set up so nicely. The animals are adorable. It was very crowded while we were there but still nice. They have a lot to see. Absolutely worth the visit.

I've been visiting the Cape May Zoo since my children were small. Now I have my grandchildren and I am visiting the zoo with them. What a fantastic Family Place.

Young and old can all enjoy this great experience and no where else can you do have all this fun for free (although it is highly recommended to donate, it is well worth it).

A good place to visit when visiting Cape May . Cant believe this zoo is free … we actually didn’t plan to go to zoo, but when we went to tree to tree adventure, and it was in the same place as the zoo. Kids wanted to see the animals and since it was free , we just went in.
Good collection of animals . We liked the birds 🦅 and few other animals .. kids were able to feed farm animals etc. food inside was ok, and expensive too. Had a good time inside .. parking outside was a bit crazy ! We had to walk a long way from the parking to the entrance .

Definitely!! There are many animals that are more active in the colder months than the Summer, i.e. the Snow Leopards with their heavy beautiful coats. Some find it more enjoyable when its less crowded also. Thanks for your support!

No, you cannot drive through the zoo. There are walking paths only.
