We stopped in here last night during a day trip to the beach. It was...OK. The shops are unique in the Hard Rock Cafe sense: there is probably only one of them in your area. Irish shops, Italian shops, jerky shops, Celebrity shops, craft shops, etc.
The area is pretty large, and is good for walking around and looking around. There is not a lot to do outside of shopping and eating, however. But we did stay for the Christmas lights show over the water, which was entertaining.
The kids enjoyed checking out all of the shops, but probably did not enjoy being told they didn't need all the kitschy stuff they wanted to buy.
We did get there late (around 5) and most of the stores were closed, particularly the ones I wanted to check out. I would go back with the family, but have tapered my expectations back.

It was simply magical! The entire staff, no matter where you are in the complex, are very nice and helpful. Everyone has a smile on their faces. We stayed overnight, the rooms are fantastic, they offer a continental breakfast, which you can enjoy in your room or in the coffee shop. All you do is order your continental breakfast when you check in, the next day, you go to the store, give them your room # and they make the basket up for you right there. Everything is fresh! The croissants were so soft, they just melt in your mouth. We ate dinner at the Smithville Inn, very pleasant. It has a sort of calming feeling to it as you walk around. Everything is lit up at night, including the numerous trees on the lake. The mallard ducks were just swimming around. Very nice to see. After the hustle and bustle of all week, this is definitely what you need!!

Cute town. Wish we had arrived earlier in the day. At 4 it was starting to get late and I would love to get back again. In fact. It's on.my list of things to do!

Really boring and overpriced, with a south jersey vibe. Not much to do besides walk in shops, look at prices for things I don't really want and walk out. Brought our baby so not really ready for the train/carousel but even then...

Fantastic spot to spend the day, especially a sunny fall day with temperatures in the upper 60's.
Visited the Towne of Historic Smithville & The Village Greene, divided by Lake Meone, on Sunday with family. So much fun to walk through both areas of the village and explore the shops. The merchants are all so welcoming and friendly, providing history of the area and the shops, new and old. So much space, we never felt crowded.
There are a few places to eat near the lake while sitting outside, in addition to a couple restaurants in the area. The village is also dog friendly, with a few animal shops for treats and other goodies.
We all had a wonderful time, and look forward to returning very soon.

I love it here! I have such fond childhood memories of our Thanksgiving visits to Historic Smithville! Dining at the Inn, riding the train, stopping in the candy store for a treat, picking out our annual Christmas ornament and feeding those hideous looking geese? or are they ducks? Now in my 50's I bring my own family and still love it! Columbus Day weekend we enjoyed Breakfast at the Lakeside Grill, purchased some lovely items at A tour of Italy, got my Pup a treat at Woof Woof Barkery and Pet Boutique and had a great time at the Irish Festival! We will be back!!

Very cute and charming town. It’s very clean and well kept. They have some very nice shops, a few very old arcades, merry go round, a train and a pond where you could rent paddle boats you. We might go back in December to see how it transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland.

We walked through the area, with many, many shops and food opportunities. There were old video games and carnival games to play, a merry go round and paddle boats to rent on the pond. It was an enjoyable walk and nicely set up.

We visited here several times during our stay in Galloway, sometimes with relatives and sometimes without; and sometimes just for a quick stop to grab some bakery, candy and/or soup.
The village has a wonderful collection of historic buildings, housing an eclectic array of shops and eateries. Several of the buildings are an extension of the local Inn, allowing one to stay right in the midst of the village.
The shops range from interesting to touristy, and typical to quirky; with pretty much a good chance there will be something of interest for almost everyone.
The temptations are quite extensive; with shops focusing on peanut butter concoctions, chocolate & other candies, honey centric treats, great bakery, wonderful coffee creations, etc., etc..
There are several really decent restaurants from which to choose; with tasty brunches at the Smithville Bakery, excellent corn chowder & huge pork chops at the Smithville Inn, etc.
There is a lake with water fowl, a carousel, and a small train that wanders throughout the area; along with numerous benches around for resting and/or people watching. This is a great area to spend a day (or several), and treat oneself to a array of indulgences.

Village looked in good shape, but on a Tuesday, good weather, many stores were closed. At a mall stores could never get away with that. If you want to close Mon and Tues in Jan and Feb do so and post. Days of Olde antique shop and bird sanctuary down street saved day.

Do they have a section set up for handicapped parking when the festivals are going?
Is there handicapped parking available?

Plenty of parking! NO charge for parking. There are 2 lots next to the shops and an unpaved field on other side of both Rte. 9 and the side street. Enjoy!
