Stone Harbor Point was one of the most rewarding stops on our birding week in Cape May. Once we got past the municipal beach crowds, the shore birds appeared in droves. We not only saw a wide variety of species but they were present in significant numbers. Highly recommend an evening stroll.

Came to watch the sunset- staying nearby. It was so beautiful. I walked here every morning to search for seashells and enjoy the peacefulness. Walking on the beach is so pretty- you can also walk back through the nature sanctuary path and see lots of birds and butterflies.

We just returned from our stay at the reeds. I am extremely disappointed with our experience. The room was the smallest I have ever stayed in in any hotel. The chair in our room was so stained I didn’t want to sit on it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
We had planned on eating in the sax restaurant for our anniversary. Upon arrival we were told it was closed due to lack of staffing.
The main reason for staying here was the beach amenities. When we were going to the beach the the shuttle driver told us he would take us but there were no chairs or umbrellas available. We decided to try them”pool”. It was really a large bath tub it was so dirty I wouldn’t go in.
When I asked to speak to the manager she kept me waiting while she had an extended conversation with her fellow workers she was less then concerned with what I informed her of.
For the extremely high price of this hotel I expected a much better experience. I have had much better experiences at places like the Marriott courtyard

I have been going to the Stone Harbor point for over 50 years and still find it wonderful. Beautiful, quiet, a tribute to nature in a time when land is gobbled up for mansions. Stone Harbor has changed so much since I began going there as a child but this is still the real, authentic Stone Harbor the way it was.....worth the walk. Go there with your children or grandchildren to show them what the Jersey shore used to be and that I wish it still was.

Although the walk along beach was enjoyable, we were upset to find out that the shipwreck was no longer visible. Apparently, the shipwreck is visible in January, partly visible in March but totally covered in August.

Stopped here for a relaxing walk while passing through town last weekend. Very beautiful spot to take a break from driving.

I went here with family and friends to see the wooden ship that appeared on the surf. To get to the point there in a large parking lot where you can park. I would recommend having some foot wear on if you are planning to go to the point. There is a narrow trail that you have to take to get to the beach. There are some pretty neat activities back there like a tower and bird watching. At the end of the trail it opens up to the beach. You still have a long walk to the point but life is a journey, not a destination. It was nice to walk along the beach, relax and look for shells. We found some nice ones too! The ship wreck wasn't giant. picture a well crafted row boat that went down sometime in the 1800's. It is interesting to see history and wonder how people fared the seas without modern technology. Once you head back it is a quick trip into downtown for a snack or shopping. Enjoy!

I've been visiting the Stone Harbor point since the 1970s. It has always been a wonderful walk, with not a lot of other people (they are there just no crowds). Some days there are tons of shells, others not so much. The center of the tip of the island here is a protected area (you can't walk to the middle) but there are some paths to walk on. Just don't go where it is marked as those are nesting areas, etc.

Amazing place to kayak with dolphins and see amazing birdlife!!!! Great to walk on the beach and feel like you are on your own private beach!!!!!
