I first saw the tents when I was on a rooftop and wondered what it was. Back in town a year later, I finally got a chance to check it out. Based on what I saw on their website, it looks like the same vendors aren't at every event date. On this July 4th, we walked through; the flea vendors was in the middle while the food vendors surrounded them. From Muzzles, my fiance enjoyed the muzzlebag burger. It consisted of a German beef dumpling topped with caramelized onions in a pretzel bun and served with herb tossed ruffled/wavy/ridge chips. I opted for DOMI, cream puffs (profiteroles/choux pastry) filled with Asian flavors. While they had a 3 for $$ deal, I only got the black sesame and porky puff. The finished products became eye candy for myself and everyone around me as I walked back to my seat in the roped off area (where alcohol was served). The flavors were on point for both sweet and savory puffs. Each had a nice crunch to them and the sesame cream and pork filled every corner in the puffs. If we came across these vendors again at other locations, we'll definitely buy. Overall, it's only good for one visit. Once we finished our food, we left because the volume of the music was far too loud for the size of the venue.

We agree with previous reviews. We were in town during July 4th wkend and as fans of Flea Market Flip we wanted to visit. All advertisements say every Sat and Sun (including website).

There was a special event July 4th but it did not say the wkends were cancelled.

Even if it was scheduled, it’s just a parking lot. There’s no beer garden.

New Yorkers must have a different definition of flea market. Any random parking lot with a half dozen tens qualifies. Most places weren’t even open and just setting up.

This is a small open-air market that seemed to have more food trucks than flea market stalls, but it was fun to walk around and see the sights and feel like a local resident. Also next to a cool art gallery space that is worth checking out.

Was excited to go to the LIC Flea, after seeing it on Flea Market Flip. This place is really small, really just in a large parking lot. They advertise a beer garden, which is basically a couple of tables, no umbrellas. It was all food on the outskirts & a few booths on the inside had items for sale, nothing to write home about.

The advertisements for this market would make you believe that it is very big, however it is clearly not. The whole market is on a small parking lot. On Google maps it looks as if the big building next to it is part of the market, however it is not at all. The market is just the parking lot next to the building. A few food stalls and one or two people selling some furniture, thats it. Takes no more than 10 or 15 minutes to see it all. Looks like the organizers are more occupied with marketing rather than the market itself.

There's no doubting that LIC Flea & Food is a much more pleasant experience than the madness at Smorgasburg, but there's also considerably less on offer. So it's a good idea to think about what's most important before choosing which to visit.

Give LIC Flea & Food a couple of years to grow (just a bit) in popularity and size, though, and it could have the beating of Smorgasburg.

Until it grows too big and popular... of course!

And, oh, don't go for the flea bit. There's next to none of any of that.

My daughter and I love flea markets and decided to check out LIC Flea this weekend. It is a small flea market. We were surprised that there were so few vendors selling new and/or vintage goods. There are tons of food stalls--baked goods, bubble tea, Asian pancakes, crepes, burgers, oysters, fries, pickles, sliders, quesadillas and lots more. If you are hungry, this is the place to be. We probably won't go again because there just wasn't enough shopping for us. There is a beautiful waterfront park just a couple of blocks from the flea market.

Small (1/8th block) food and flea market.
Mostly Food vendors of all nationalities surrounding area with some vendors of new and old items in the middle.
Brewery on corner was better.

Visited the Long Island City Flea and to be honest - it was not worth the trip. Many of the stalls had new items that I can get at the Hospital Fund Raisers where I work. There was one vendor who had vintage women's clothing, and I made a stop. The best stall there. One had an artisan jewelry maker - nice stuff again way overpriced. One stall had some vintage items - too expensive for a flea market. If you want a true flea - hop on the LIRR and go to the Bellmore or Wantagh Flea Markets on the weekend. Very interesting STUFF great prices - pass this one up!
