Stopped in with spouse and friends to get some 'shiopping done. I don't know why this is called a shopping mall, empty/boarded up stores food court only has Wendys, will never bo back.

When the mall first opened it was a thriving shopping mall for a few years with a good economy and it pulled in Canadian shoppers then with store rentals always going up and the buying power of the Canadian dollar going down it did not pay in savings to shop here.
Online retail ecommerce shopping was the way to go with free shipping quite often, just look at Amazon.com with a wider variety of products at better prices and all you needed was internet access then there is Walmart with the cheap quality products made in China.
Malls are so last century for shopping.

Stores all but gone, exterior and interior falling apart, roads and parking lots around it have holes big enough to swallow small vehicles. Roads around this place can easily tear out the front end of a vehicle. Bathrooms appear to cleaned maybe once or twice in a week. Floors in mall and tiles falling apart. Only mainstays JC Penny, Olympia, and a shoe store. Not sure how Wendy's stays in business at furthest end of mall. Wish a new restaurant/pub the best of luck.

I have gotten over the shock of seeing the mall being mostly empty by now. So I can say that one improvement is that a boxing gym has opened in the mall. There seemed to be a few new stores but they were not open when I visited on a Tuesday. Some of them are open Thursday - Sunday. Also there seemed to be some ceiling leaks (tiles hanging)

I felt like I was watching an episode of "This is Dan Bell" on youtube when I got here. I hadn't been to Massena in several years. I am honestly shocked that 95% of the stores have left.
The only stores remaining today were: JC Penney, Wendy's, Maurice's, Shoe Dept. a musical instrument store, two identical stores selling maple syrup, and Olympia sports, I think. All other stores were either totally empty or filled with people selling crafts, an abandoned bouncy castle, offering child modeling classes or birthday parties, etc. Basically they allow any community members to try to occupy the spaces. Also even Hannaford has left. Somebody please tell me what happened!

Really enjoyed walking through the show and talking with an artist. Take time while being in the St Lawrence Center to see this show through the end of summer. Some of the work can be purchased. My favorite piece was a water color of sunflowers. All mediums displsyed by artists.

I have been to this mall several times in the past and like everyone else I too have noticed that it has fallen on hard in the recent past. And by hard times, I mean really hard times. However, recently the mall was sold to a different owner and the manager who has taken over operations has been working her rear end off to bring it back to life. I have been following along on Facebook hoping to see some chance that this mall can be salvage and revitalized. And let me tell you what, I have been seeing some major hard work starting to pay off. I read a few articles about new shops coming in to the mall and the owners are very excited about several new shops opening up. I went and visited the mall the other day for the first time in over a year and the difference in what I have seen in exciting. Lots of new shops and lots more expecting to open up. Yes they are mostly local shops, but this is still a great sign of things to come. I look forward to seeing the already strong improvements that are taking place at this mall continue to get even better in the near future. Stick with it everyone and remember that if you want to see the mall continue to grow and get some stores back you need to visit and shop. I will be back very soon and I eagerly look forward to it.

Sadly, their are mostly empty spots here. There are a few neat local shops, and an indoor bounce house as well as an arcade with limited/older games. There is a Wendy's in the food court that people frequent because it is the only Wendy's within an hour's drive....but is also the only restaurant in the mall. They had a nice skating rink, but the mall was built on a swamp or sinkhole and like the parking lot, the skating rink sunk and cracked and the expense/complexity to repair the ice making chilling equipment was not viable. Unfortunately, the local economy doesn't really support a mall. The closure of the ice rink was like the final nail in the coffin, it had brought some teens and families that in turn also bought drinks and snacks and wandered the mall. One of the last two anchor stores BonTon is leaving soon. It will just be Penney's. The building is in disrepair from the ceiling tiles to the bathrooms....their are often garbage bins around to catch leaking water. If you are in town on a rainy day, visit the bounce house and grab a Frosty, buy from one of the local vendors...but traveling to this place expecting to do a lot of clothes shopping or hit a toy store etc. would be tough.

Not much left in this Mall. Stopped in for lunch on our way back home to Canada. Only place to eat was Wendy's. It is eerie to walk the mall. Most of the stores are gone. No longer a Sears. Really the only thing there is a JC Penney. It is sad to see it was once a great place for Canadians to shop, now it just a shell of what used to be a mall.

This mall was such a disappointment. I visited this center during its heyday and a few times since. It was fabulous. It has been losing tenants every year. Now it is a skeleton of itself. It is sad to see so many empty stores. Sears disappeared this year as well as others. The food court is almost empty with only Wendy's open. Very, very sad.
