Learned a lot about Remington and the time period. The docents are eager to share their knowledge. The downstairs was more enjoyable than the upstairs (to us).

I’m not a huge fan of Remington, but was impressed none the less. Not only did the museum have several of the more recognizable sculptures, but also Remington’s oil paintings, watercolors, pen and ink and pieces from the Remington’s personal collection including Tiffany lamps. Some of the upstairs rooms had works from local artists. We spent about an hour. You could spend 1-1/2 hours easily.

Seeing the original "1st Volunteer Charge Up San Juan Hill" was a must. It was what I thought it would be. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind. Well worth the time and travel to see. An added bonus was the tickets to the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY.

I really liked Remington's paintings in other museums, like the Art Institute of Chicago, and was excited to see there is a museum about him. The staff lady working was very passionate and informative, explaining why this museum is located here, in this specific house in Ogdensburg. The museum is not as big as I thought but has lot of info about Remington, and two large rooms with his work. The work includes some pretty paintings and sketches, and also has many of his sculptures, which is very cool. Upstairs, there is a room dedicated to the work of Sally James Farnham, another talented local artist. There's also some historical notes about the history of the house.

That’s right. If you’re on the fence about visiting this art museum, go. Not only are the collections impressive, the staff is splendid. They want you to pick their brains about the collection. And, if you are from out-of-town, they will share with you what they know about the area. The artworks here are top-notch. Check them out. You won’t regret it.

If you love Remington's work, this museum is for you. I had never seen so many of his works in one place before. Just wonderful. I was not aware he was also an artist, so it was a treat to view his art. A docent started us off telling us some of his history, which I appreciated. If you have the money, you can purchase one his sculptures. Sadly, all I could afford was a T-shirt. This museum is clearly a hidden gem. It's about a 45 minute drive from Alexandria Bay.

Many original works of the Western artist. Interesting story of his life and how he worked. I would say less than 2 hours for visit.

Loved this museum. The fact that it was in their home made it even greater. The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. There was a great amount of his works on display as well. Would recommend this museum.

You won't know Remington until you visit this museum. You'll never get closer to his jaw-dropping sculptures and paintings...it's a personal experience. Museum not only honors Remington but also the history of the Parish house/family and their contributions to Ogdensburg's and US history. There was also an exhibit of local artists when we visited. Super, welcoming and knowledgeable staff from reception to the maintenance guy. Extremely enjoyed our visit!

Excellent collection of sculptures and material about Frederic Remington's life and works. Small exhibit showing the steps involved in producing the castings. Very knowledgeable staff.
