Castlemaine is a regional city that is around an hour from Melbourne by train, Castlemaine is an agricultural area. The aim of the farmer's market is to sell food and other produce direct from the farm to the consumer, cutting out the middleman. The produce at the Castlemaine Farmers' Market is fresh; it's produced in the region.

The idea of a Farmers' Market is that farmers sell their produce directly to their consumers, with no middle man. This means that the produce is fresh, out of the fields, and also customers know that the money they pay goes directly to the farmer. Castlemaine is a thriving regional city, easily accessible by car or train, about an hour's travel from Melbourne. The market sells local produce such as meat, fruit vegetables and other products from local and regional sources. The Castlemaine Farmers' Market is held regularly, depending on the circumstances.

Casrlemaine is a thriving regional city just over an hour by train from Melbourne. The fresh produce is sourced locally from farms in the region. Products include meat, dairy products, fruit and vegetbles.The Castlemaine Farmers' Market is a good day out.Prices are reasonable.

The market was spaced out well in the context of coronavirus, however the market was quite busy and it was hard to maintain social distancing. That being said, there were enough interesting stalls and variety to wander through. Plenty of local produce to appreciate. Worth a visit.

The Castlemaine Farmers Market is held on the first Sunday of every month (except January) from 9 am to 1 pm.
Its just a short walk from the Castlemaine Train Station.
We had a short visit in Castlemaine prior to connecting with the historic Goldfields Steam Train.
An interesting market with lots of fresh and locally produced fruit and vegetables.

Great way to spend Sunday morning. True Farmers & Artists Markets on either side of the street. Lovely atmosphere. Good Music and not the 'wall to wall' people in larger urban centres. Castlemaine is an impressive town with a vibrant & active community & a large choice of things to do.

Good little farmers market, with an arts and crafts market across the street the day we were there. Worth a look, and pick up some great local produce while you're there.

A great outdoor event for food lovers. Flowers and live chooks available too. Also wine, food and emu oil skin care product are a must.

Nice setting near a park. Wide selection of local or close to local produce. Close to the Artists Market across the road.
