et Un village comme il y en avait sans doute aux ° siècle, c'est très bien fait, cela nous replonge dans le passée. La minoterie, la scierie, la boulangerie... fonctionnent comme autrefois

It was a beautiful evening and we really enjoyed all the fun exhibits. Lights, sounds, photo oops and so many pumpkins. There are clean bathrooms throughout and a gift shop with options for hot and cold beverages and lots of treats. A fun time.

We loved our visit... my husband was here when he was young with a school field trip (50yrs ago).. he had such good memories from this place ... so we finally got back that way to spend some time in Upper Canada's Village... my first time... I loved it ... so educational.. I love the people in period costumes. They had so much info...
Thanks for the experience! ... you can spend just a couple hours here or make it a full day trip

Awesome experience. Many homes and farmstead staffed with people in period costume talking about life in the village in 1867. Very enlightening to discover how challenging life would have been in Upper Canada at the time.
Highly recommend this stop (at $25 per adult) to connect with the history of the region. Funny how we didn't care about Canadian history so much in school, but now it's very intriguing. We got to engage with the bakers, flour mill workers, Sawyers, cabinet makers, spinners, farmers, and the wives that keep life ticking for everyone!

We visited Upper Canada Village with out 18 year old twins and were a little worried it might have been a bit childish but it really wasn't.
The staff are really knowledgeable and passionate about their subject and stay in character throughout, talking to you as if it really is the 1860s.
We spent around 4 hours there but you could easily make a whole day of it, it was just really really hot and humid the day we visited.
It was really interesting learning about all the trades, the sawmill was my favourite, seeing it in action was brilliant.
Nice gift shop as well and a Beavertails at the entrance. Plenty of free parking.

I love visiting this place! What a great experience for the kids to back up in time and see what life was like in the 1800’s. The staff is very friendly and good with kids. We had our family photo taken (dressed up) which was a nice souvenir. They’ve changed the setup a bit because now it only costs $10 and you get photos taken on your phone (they no longer print the 8x10 to give to you) but it was definitely worth it. The horse drawn wagon ride around the property was good as was the bath ride. A nice bonus is that you receive a second ticket (for free) to return during the 2023 season. The ticket can also be used at any of the St-Lawrence Parks. We live over 2 hrs away but we’re hoping to return with your free tickets again this year.

We had all heard about Upper Canada Village, but had never been, so since we were in the area we thought that we would check it out. So glad that we did! We started at the working sawmill. The interpreters were very knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed what they were doing in their period costumes. Off to visit the town, where we went to the school house, merchants, the doctors, a working farm, a working blacksmith and churches to name a few buildings. The gardens and trees were well maintained and represented the period. Again, the interpreters were very knowledgeable and stayed in character as we asked lots of questions. Many of whom were bilingual.
Each building had a bilingual sign explaining it's origin and the importance of it during that era, which was helpful. We stopped off for a delicious ice cream in the cafeteria (not rustic, but very functional!) They did offer drinks and snacks also. We saw a few school children here on school trips. They enjoyed the horse drawn wagon and the ferry boat as well as learning about pioneer life.
I would recommend this as a day trip in the Spring, Summer or Fall

The whole village is the display and pumpkins are everywhere in different themes. It takes a minimum of an hour to get through. They have wheel chairs available and if you call ahead they may be able to set them aside knowing you are going. Not sure. It's not a hard walk but it is in the dark and the pathways are not completely level. If you have mobility challenges go by wheel chair if you can. Best of luck.

I saw dogs at PumpkinInferno last night that were not wearing service dog gear. But contact upper Canada village directly to confirm . It is really crowded and people won't see your dogs in the dark so you risk them getting hurt if people accidentally step on them.
Are dogs allowed in the village?

It’s raining in the region today. Would it still be a good idea to visit the village or are we going to spend most of our day soaked to the bone?

Hi
What are prices like if we wanted to eat a simple lunch bought on the site? Could you give an example of meal with price?

There are two cafeteria like restaurants on site, one is the Barn that has specials every day and for lunch you could probably have a good one for about $8-$ with your beverage. In the back of the gift shop there is a smaller cafeteria restaurant more limited in what you can get but about the same prices. I still recommend going to Willards for the formal tea as it comes with a plate of fancy goodies. If you want to pick up things get some fresh bread, cheese or curds and then buy drinks , find a nice spot to sit and enough. You can also get great drinks and ice cream by the public restrooms at the entrance/exit to the village.
I am planning to take out of country guest to upper Canada village on 23rd October. Is it open to public? And how far is it from Montreal? Thanks for any info.
