Hampton Court Station has slow trains running every half hour from Waterloo. It is on a branch line from Surbiton. There are cafes and shops opposite it is a short walk across the bridge over to River Thames to Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court railway station is very close to Hampton Court Palace. Just across the river in fact.
There are regular trains running from London Waterloo to the station every 30 minutes. The trains stop at all stations along the way and there links to various different lines.
For example:
Waterloo - connections to South Eastern Railway via Waterloo East, this station is also served by the Northern, Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines.
Vauxhall - connections to the Victoria line and lots of buses.
Clapham Junction - connections to Southern Railway and London Overground.
Wimbledon - Connections to District line, Thameslink and Croydon Tramlink as well as other South Western Railway services.
Surbiton - Other South Western Railway services.
I visited in November 2023 and the station was clean and well presented. Well worth taking public transport as a better alternative.

Apart from being a resident of the area, I suspect the most common reason for using this station is its proximity to the very famous Hampton Court Palace. Easily connected to central London via frequent Soithwest trains, ours was a 32-minute commute from Vauxhall station in South Lambeth. Bear in mind that there's very little shelter once your leave the station, so have an umbrella ready in case the heavens open up.

The lady in the kiosk was very helpful, gave us all the info we needed getting to London for the day. Good price for the train into London and included the buses and the underground in the same ticket. Amazing value.

There is improvement works going on at this station but there is a nice coffee bar open. There are two platforms and everything on ground level so don't need to worry about stairs and lifts. Very convenient location, just a short walk away from the palace and no crossing a very busy road.

This is the station to use for arrival at Hampton Court Palace. Used this to get back to London via Wimbledon to Paddington Station....very easy, about a half hour transit time.

Always clean tidy and well looked after. everything you would expect from the closest station to a royal palace.

I parked at the station car park with my two children as we were visiting HCP. A very helpful member of railway staff assisted me to obtain the correct car park ticket which I duly displayed in the car. Imagine my surprise a few weeks later when I received a Fixed Penalty Notice claiming that I hadn’t paid for a ticket! Although I hadn’t retained the actual ticket, I was able to screenshot my bank statement detailing the payment to South West Trains for the ticket. I appealed and fortunately was successful. There was no explanation for the FPN so my advice would be that if you park in this particular station car park, keep hold of your ticket for a few weeks, especially if you pay by cash!

We were undertaking our second visit to Hampton Court Palace. As was the case for our visit we travelled to the palace onboard a South West train from London Waterloo to Hampton Court Railway Station.
This railway station is situated only about a 5 minute walk away from the palace’s entrance. After our visit to the palace we returned to the railway station to wait for the train back to London Waterloo. There is plenty of seating provided undercover on the railway station’s small concourse just in front of the platform ticket barriers. There is also a small kiosk located within the station where a limited range of refreshments can be purchased. On the day of this visit, there was also a “pop-up” coffee outlet on the station concourse selling hot beverages.
We found that it was a useful move to walk out towards the far end of the platform before the train arrived at this terminus station. By doing this, it is easy to score a seat at the front of the train for its return journey to Waterloo. Therefore, when you arrive at Waterloo, there is only a short walk off the platform and on to the main concourse. It was our observation that many people wait on the concourse for to train to arrive and then compete with others to get through the ticket barriers and score a seat on what become the carriages at the end of the train. Consequently, when they arrive at Waterloo, they are faced with a long walk to reach the station concourse.

This station has, at its best, toilets, seats to wait on and a handy'snack shack' where you can purchase refreshments. The friendly booking clerk added a nice personal touch.
